November has been a month focused on gratitude, and I want to take a moment to recognize the many people and things we have to be thankful for at West Minico. I am especially grateful for our students. Each day I see small acts of kindness—students cleaning up after others, greeting one another with smiles, and cheering for their peers. Their examples remind me of the goodness and character we have within our school community.

As we approach the end of the semester, I also want to remind families of the importance of staying on top of grades and attendance. We have several students who are missing work, which can lead to failing grades. Please take a moment to check your student’s progress in PowerSchool and respond if a teacher reaches out. To advance to the next grade, students must meet both attendance requirements and pass their classes. At this time, there will not be summer school offered next summer, so it’s crucial that students complete their work and earn passing grades now.

If you need assistance accessing PowerSchool, please contact Cristina in the office—she will be happy to help. Let’s work together to finish this semester strong!

When Warriors are on time and present for the full school day, they’re setting themselves up for success. Being on time shows Respect for teachers and classmates, and being fully present shows Responsibility for learning. Frequent tardies or early checkouts can make it harder for students to keep up, especially as lessons build. Try setting two alarms in the morning or preparing clothes and backpacks the night before to make mornings smoother. Let’s finish the semester strong by being on time, every time — because each moment matters.
