From the Principal From the Principal

We are so grateful to have so many parents that volunteer at Ferson! Getting to see you for field trips, as mystery readers, and in our lunch room is amazing. When you are here volunteering, please be respectful of the learning environment and only go into the spaces in which you are scheduled to volunteer. For example, if you are volunteering in the lunchroom, you should be staying in the lunchroom. If you are here as a mystery reader, you should only be accessing the classroom in which you are a mystery reader. We appreciate your understanding and support as we create the safest and very best learning environments for our students and staff.

If you are interested in conferencing with a specials teacher, please reach out to them directly. Due to the volume of students they support, they are unable to conference with every family. Conferences with specials teachers will be 10 minutes in length as opposed to the 20 minutes scheduled with the classroom teacher. Please reach out via email to set up a conference with a specials teacher if you have questions or concerns.

Wasco Baseball is excited to share that starting in Spring 2026, we will officially offer Recreational Softball leagues alongside our long-standing baseball program. Our focus is on providing a fun, local experience for girls beginning at age 4 (Tee Ball) and growing through grade-based leagues into middle school, depending on enrollment.

If a recreational softball league interests your family, please complete the survey below. This survey is simply to help us gauge interest and plan age groups. Your response will help our Board of Directors, along with newly added softball-specific board members, design the best possible program for the community.

We can’t wait to build this new chapter of Wasco Athletics with you. Thank you for your continued support as our Board of Directors works to grow and strengthen both Wasco Baseball and Wasco Softball.

  • We have joined the Trex Community Challenge! We are partnering with St. Charles Kiwanis and Student Leadership Club to collect 1000 pounds of plastic for recycling within the next calendar year. When we hit our goal of 1000 pounds, Trex will donate one of their Yacht Club benches to our school. Get your plastics ready! Wondering what can be recycled? So many things… Grocery bags, bread bags, bubble wrap, dry cleaning bags, produce bags, paper towel/tissue overwrap, ice bags, ziplock or food storage bags, and more! You can find a detailed list here.

The donation containers are in the front foyer by the main doors.

D303 Attendance Procedures Update D303 Attendance Procedures Update

User uploaded image

District 303 attendance procedures were updated and approved at the June 9, 2025, Board Meeting. All district procedures are available in the CUSD 303 Student Handbook found in the Parent/Community tab in the Information column of the districtd303.org website.

Updates to the attendance procedures were made to bring consistency across all schools within the district and to clarify student attendance expectations. One example of an update is the removal of the pre-arranged absence procedure. This aligns with the definitions of excused and unexcused absences found in Section 2.2.

NEW VACATION POLICY:

  • The pre-arranged absence form and procedure are no longer in use

  • Vacations during school days are discouraged and will be considered unexcused absences

  • This change aligns with our commitment to maximizing instructional time for all students

We recognize that families sometimes need flexibility for travel or special circumstances. While we strongly encourage scheduling family trips during school breaks and holidays, we understand that this isn't always possible. We ask for your partnership in minimizing absences during the school year whenever feasible.

Families are encouraged to review the CUSD 303 Student Handbook to familiarize themselves with the districtwide procedures.
