Hello Panther Families!
I know I talked about this at Curriculum Night, but it's SO important that I wanted to reinforce it again. One of the most important things we can teach our children is that losing is not failure—it’s part of learning and growing. Children who struggle with losing may begin to avoid activities they aren’t immediately good at, which can limit their willingness to take risks, try new things, and even build friendships. Helping us with this at home is WAY more important then doing a workbook from Barnes & Nobel.
We teach this at school but as parents, you can help by modeling a healthy response to disappointment. Celebrate the effort, laugh at mistakes, and remind children that losing gives us information about what we can try differently next time. Play a game together and let your child see you lose gracefully. Encourage them to try again, even when things don’t go their way.
Confidence doesn’t come from always winning. It comes from knowing you can experience disappointment, learn from it, and keep going. What a powerful lesson for our children—at school, on the playground, and in life!
Here are some resources to help your child play at home.

Admission is 100% FREE for everyone. We’re bringing in delicious food trucks, local vendors, and over 75 interactive booths packed with games for all ages.
The fun kicks off right at 5:00 PM, so make sure you and your families arrive early to grab some food, play games, and secure a prime spot for the annual Homecoming Parade featuring AHS sports teams, clubs, and loads of special guests.
Let's show up big and show off that Raider Pride!
We’re excited to invite all families to our annual event, Taste of New Prospect, on Friday, October 23rd, from 5:30-7:00 PM. This is a vibrant celebration of the diverse cultures that make our school community so special! Taste of New Prospect is a wonderful opportunity to share your family's heritage through food, music, art, clothing, or traditions.
If you’d like to participate and showcase your culture, please sign up by September 28th using the flyer that was sent home in your child’s Thursday folder (also button below).
Your Presence Matters!
September is Attendance Awareness Month. We want all students here at New Prospect ES to be On Time, On Target, and On Track!
Being On Time means that we are here in the building every day by 7:40.
Being On Target means that we attend school regularly to learn everything we need to know.
Here at New Prospect ES, we Strive for 95! That means that we come to school 95% of the time!
Being On Track means that we are achieving academic success through good attendance.
Remember, your involvement as parents and guardians is an essential factor in creating a positive and engaging school environment. Together, we can foster an atmosphere where students are excited to come to school, engage in learning, and build a foundation for a successful future.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in ensuring the success of your child's education. For more information on FCS attendance policies please visit the FCS Attendance Matters Website or reach out to our school social worker, Patrick Hartigan, MSW at hartigan@fultonschools.org or 404 213 7451.
