Principal Message
Dear WCS Families,
February vacation is finally here! Our teachers and students are excited for some well-deserved time off. Whether you are staying local or heading somewhere warm for some vitamin D, we hope your family enjoys a relaxing and fun break together. When we return, we will be entering March and the months will begin to move quickly as we head into the latter part of the school year.
Our 6th grade students will soon begin planning for next year. On March 3rd, during lunches, students will hear from our Foreign Language and Fine Arts Director about their Grade 7 language and music options. Students will then make their selections with their homeroom teachers here at school on March 12th.
The second trimester will close on March 6th, and report cards will be available for families to view in PowerSchool on March 13th. Our second round of parent–teacher conferences will also take place at the end of March. Please keep an eye out for sign-up details in our next newsletter.
This week we celebrated our students with a pizza party for having the highest usage rate of Tutor.com! Students and staff enjoyed a wonderful afternoon together, and we were honored to be joined by the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner of Education, along with district leadership and several School Board members. If your child has not yet explored Tutor.com, we strongly encourage them to give it a try as students are seeing great benefits from this valuable resource.
Enjoy the break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for the busy months ahead!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Mrs. Martin
