Class of 2025 College Planning Seminar

On Tuesday, August 27, 2024 the Bedford High School Counseling Department will hold a college planning seminar for members of the Class of 2025. The seminar will be held at two different times. The first session will be from 9:30-11AM and the second will be from 12:30-2PM. Students in the Class of 2025 will receive a Google Form in their BHS email during the week of August 12th to sign up for a specific seminar time.

During this seminar, students will meet with their counselor in groups to discuss the following topics:

  • Review of Naviance and Finalizing your List of Colleges
  • Completing the Common App and Supplemental Questions
  • Requesting Letters of Recommendation in Naviance
  • Requesting Official Transcripts in Naviance
  • Timelines and Deadlines for Requesting Materials

This seminar is not mandatory, but students who plan to apply early action/decision are encouraged to attend. These topics will also be covered during senior seminar in early September so if you cannot attend you will still receive this information.

Students should bring their fully charged BHS iPads with them to the seminar along with login information for Naviance and Common App. Counselors met with students in the spring to set up their Common App accounts. We are limiting visitors inside the school. Please ring the bell and we will let you into the vestibule. Items can be left on the table right inside the vestibule. Students can check for the item between classes and at lunch.

  • iPads should be brought to the Student Office.
  • Bedford High School is not responsible for electronics, money, keys, sports equipment, etc. left at the table.

Please familiarize yourself with the iPad Information on the BHS website. The answers to many frequently asked questions can be found there.

Students/families are financially responsible for all damage or loss to school issued iPads, cases, charging blocks, and cables. Due to the cost of replacing and/or repairing iPads, we strongly recommend that all families purchase insurance for their students’ school issued iPad. More information on enrollment can be found at Worth Avenue Group. If you already have a policy with Worth Avenue Group, renewal notices were sent in July.
