Johnny's Ambassadors

On Thursday, September 11, during homeroom, our freshman class will have the opportunity to listen to Laura Stack from Johnny's Ambassadors speak. Johnny's Ambassadors provides science-based school assemblies to educate students about the impacts of youth cannabis (THC) use. This is an assembly that we have held for several years and find it to be informative and powerful.

**Parents are invited to a presentation by Laura Stack of Johnny's Ambassadors on October 6 at 6:00 p.m. at Rock Canyon High School.**

Please visit their website for more information:

Johnny’s Ambassadors is on a mission to educate teens, parents, and communities about the dangers of today’s potent THC products (marijuana, dabs, vapes, edibles) on adolescent brain development, psychosis, and suicide. We focus on youth THC awareness, prevention, and education. Primarily, we share data-driven facts and clear messaging with teens and parents to reduce the likelihood they will use marijuana and stop progression to more problematic use.

Parent University Joining DCSD Notebook as a Podcast 🎤

The new school year has begun and along with that so has a new year of DCSD's Parent University topics. Whether you’re brand new to DCSD or a long-time parent, Parent University is a free resource designed to support and empower families as they navigate the school years. Each month we explore a new topic based on what matters most to you - our DCSD parents and caregivers.

This year, we’re excited to introduce Parent University as a podcast! Thanks to your feedback, we’ve shifted from Zoom to a more flexible format, giving you the chance to listen anytime, anywhere. The podcast also allows our guests to dive deeper into conversations, offering even more helpful insights for your parenting journey. Our first Parent University podcast discusses back-to-school anxiety and offers tools and tips for families to help manage that anxiety. Listen to the podcast here.

If you would like to suggest a topic of interest for a future Parent University episode, please fill out this form. Thank you to our Parent University podcast sponsor, HCA HealthONE Sky Ridge, for their continued support and partnership.
