Skyward BOY Tips
IPR Tips: 1st IPR date is 9/2/22
- Make sure all grades have been entered in Skyward. Canvas does not share grades to Skyward.
- Do NOT assign grades to students that have not been in class. We must ensure the accuracy of our reporting.
- Complete transfer grades for current nine-weeks to ensure accurate average calculations.
- The IPR grade is a snapshot and there is no action/submit required by the teacher. The system will automatically pull the average as of 4:30pm Friday, September 2nd.
- There are no grade changes to IPR averages. The average shown in the IPR column will NOT change as grades are updated. To view the accurate nine-weeks average look at the 1NW column (see Gradesheet display document below).
- If updates need to be made to IPR1 grades after Friday, teachers will need to unlock the grading period. Note: It is not necessary to re-lock an IPR until the end of the nine-weeks.
- After Friday the IPR1 column will not be visible and IPR2 will be made visible. Teachers can change the Grading Period display after Friday to include IPR1.
Did You Know? You can copy display settings in one class to your other classes in Skyward
- First, set the Gradesheet Display and Student Display settings in one class, Save.
- Then, click on Copy Gradesheet Display Settings in the top right
- Check destination course(s) and click Next
- Leave all settings checked (or not) and Run Process
Collaborative Note-Taking Boosts Student Engagement
Edutopia article on the power of collaborative note-taking for middle and high school students. *hint - you can do this with Google docs and you can turn on the collaboration feature in Canvas so students can work on shared Google docs/sheets/etc*

Cubelet Checkout
Cubelets are small blocks that each perform a different function. Snap them together and create something new. Rearrange them to expand creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Reserve them here.
