The Weekly Update
March 23, 2026
Spring Break Begins the Week of March 30, 2026
As a reminder, school resumes on Monday, April 6, 2026. It will be a White B Day.
Trimester 3 - Set a Goal for Yourself
The final trimester begins on Monday, March 23, 2026. We encourage students to continue to work hard and put forth their best efforts so that they end the school year on a positive note. It is helpful for students to set a goal for themselves. Goals are specific and measurable.
Remember, all tardies and absences DO count. Students who reach the maximum number of tardies and absences for the school year may be in risk of repeating their current grade or attending a summer program.
Grades for Trimester 2 will be available to view in the Parent Portal of Genesis before the Spring Break. We will send an email once the report cards are posted. For questions or concerns about a class, please first reach out to your student's teachers.

8th Grade Interview Days Planned for April
Plans are underway for 8th Grade Interview Days. We look forward to another successful year.
We invite members of our community to participate in our 8th Grade Interview Day. Volunteers help our students practice their communication skills by participating in a mini-interview style conversation. Volunteers from all types of jobs and experiences are needed.
Each volunteer will be asked to interview approximately 10 students for a 10 minute interview. You will be given 3 questions to ask students, and you will then be asked to provide feedback for the students using a scale report to highlight the student's strengths. Interviews take place with one of our teaching staff present.
The first 3 days will be preliminary rounds and then the top 10 students from each instructional house will compete in a final round on Friday, April 24.
The feedback and comments you can offer the LMS students are invaluable. If you are interested in participating please use the link below to sign up.

World Language Proficiency Testing for 8th Graders
On Wednesday, March 25 and Thursday, March 26, a number of 8th graders will be participating in the STAMP assessment in the LMS Library. The families of these students have received a letter from Mr. Neel Desai, Asst. Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, with detailed information.
The assessment enables students to demonstrate their world language proficiency.
Some reminders:
* Students should report to homeroom first for attendance and then proceed to library.
* The assessment will take approximately 2-2.5 hours. Students will report back to their regularly scheduled class once finished.
* On the assigned testing day, please remind your student to bring a fully charged Chromebook, headphones with a microphone (we have extras) and a water bottle.
