WHS SCHOOL SITE

WHAT A GREAT FIRST WEEK!

I'll start by saying- there's nothing that convinces people of the importance of a new building more than opening a new, air-conditioned building during a brutal heat wave :)

We're up and running! It hasn't been without hiccups, but the WHS community is figuring it out quickly. All our planning, thus far, has been theory, but last week was when the rubber met the road. Luckily, we have amazing kids and an amazing staff. Kids figured out where to go, and learned how to move efficiently and our staff jumped in and started building community and delivering content.

I got on the PA Friday morning and told the staff and students that I love them. I do! I love their resilience, their positivity, and their ability to trust the process. Students have told us how much they enjoy the new space and how the "campus feel" is a welcomed change. Now, as the temperatures drop, I'm sure some of the joy may as well, but the overall tenor is freedom, happiness, and community.

Personally, as we figure out Moxley, WMS Garden Level, and Boys and Girls Club, I appreciate you trusting me with your students. It is an honor to serve Watertown High School and our community, and we will work tirelessly to make this transition as smooth as possible.

A special thank you to our PTSO for feeding a tired and hungry staff on Friday. Warm food made all the difference.

I am more than excited for our future and can't wait to see what this school year has in store for us!
