LMS Friends,
We had another great few weeks at LMS. It is hard to believe that February is just around the corner. We have had some particularly cold days recently and students say they are pleased we have some snow on campus.
Our days are filled and students and staff continue to do good work all around LMS.
We are excited to announce the return of the February Break STEM Camp in conjunction with Hypertherm for our older students. Please see the details below if your child is interested in joining this vacation camp opportunity.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend. The next Scoop will come out on February 11th.
Regards,
John P. D'Entremont, Principal

Latest Update by Nancy Pageau
It has been quite busy the last few weeks with a number of positive covid cases being reported at LMS.
A reminder to please keep your children at home and test if they have ANY covid symptoms, even if you think they are minor symptoms. Please send copies of those test results to my email: npageau@sau88.net.
You can now order free at home covid tests using this link: covidtests.gov. They will be delivered directly to your home. I highly recommend ordering these tests, as the test kits can be hard to find locally. It’s a good idea to have some on hand for future use.
You can still have a covid test at:
Clear Choice (closed on Tues.)- both rapid and PCR testing
DHMC/APD - PCR tests, appointments are necessary and can be scheduled through your mydh account or by calling APD- 603-442-5655, DHMC 603-650-1818
Masks are required for your children to wear daily at school. It is a good idea to send them in with an extra mask as they always get wet at recess or outdoor PE and need to be changed frequently.
I am requesting any updated physicals and immunization records that have been done this year. There are a number of students for whom I do not have current immunizations records (missing required vaccines such as the Tdap for 7th graders). Any help with this is appreciated. If you wish to share your child's covid vaccine card, I will update their school health record to reflect those vaccines. If your child is eligible for the booster vaccine and has not yet received it, they are not considered “up to date” for purposes of quarantine if they are exposed to a positive household member. I encourage you all to get the booster vaccine when eligible.
Clarification of what it means to isolate and quarantine:
Isolation is for people who are sick or who have tested positive for the Covid virus. These people stay home and away from others for at least 5 days. That means staying in a separate room, using a separate bathroom (if possible) and wearing a mask anytime you might come into contact with others in your home. If you are isolating you don’t go out or have visitors in your home. If you are ill and awaiting covid test results you should be isolating until you receive those results in case you test positive.
Quarantine is for people who have been exposed to the Covid virus and are at risk for developing infection. NH DHHS recommends quarantine only for household contacts (those living in the same house as the positive person) who are not vaccinated or not “up to date” on receiving all recommended Covid vaccines, including the booster. Those who need to quarantine due to household exposure stay home and away from others for 5 days after their last exposure to the positive person. This means that if you can’t separate away from the positive person in your home, you are still being exposed to them until that positive person completes their isolation period. You would then start your 5 day quarantine. You monitor for any covid symptoms and test if any develop. DHHS says to get tested 5 days after your exposure to the positive person, even if no symptoms develop.
Wishing you all good health,
Nancy Pageau

Voluntary Pool Testing Signing-Up
To sign up your child, 17 years old or younger, for voluntary COVID testing, please use this link.
For staff and students who are 18 years or older please use this link to sign up for voluntary testing.
When prompted please use the following access code:
- Lebanon Middle School: 81ZM9C
What will happen if a pool comes back positive?
We will follow this process for unconfirmed or confirmed positive cases:
If by chance a pool comes back positive, we will notify the staff and the families of those students in the pool that there is an unconfirmed positive case.
Students/staff in the pool will be asked to monitor for symptoms and will be tested two days later.
After the follow-up testing, those in the pool will be notified of either the negative or positive result.
The person who tested positive will be asked to isolate and close contacts will be notified per the procedures we have been following since the start of the pandemic. The Superintendent will also inform the larger community of the positive test result.
