Longhorn Letter
2026-2027
October 5, 2026
Hello Luna Longhorn Parents,
It is hard to imagine that we are already in the month of October.
Friday, October 8th, is the end of Marking Period 1. Please utilize the Home Access Center (HAC), to stay on top of your students grades. If you have not had a chance to download the HAC app, you can find directions to do so on the NISD.net/parent site.
We continue to remain committed to providing a safe and positive environment for our students. Please continue to have converstaions with your students regarding behaviors before and after school, during passing periods and at lunch.
We are seeing an influx in students writing incidents reports regarding the use of inappropriate language, gestures, and name calling from other students. We are also seeing an escalation in pushing, shoving and horseplay. Our number one priority is to provide a safe learning environment for your students. Please continue to have disucssion with your students regarding appropriate Longhorn behavior.
In addition, we are noticing an uptick with students having their cell phones out during school hours. Please remind your student of the cell phone expectation during school. For Longhorns, this time frame is from 8:33-3:55.
Remember that If Luna is participating in an off campus event such as: a Volleyball game, Football game or concert, students will need to be accompanied by an adult. We thank you for your understanding and support as we work to ensure that all Luna students are safe at all times.
Thank you for your continued support. Have a great week.
