Our Purpose
Being a member of the dance team can be one of the most valuable and exciting growth opportunities available in middle school. Members learn to work for team goals, rather than personal glory. They learn self -discipline, time management and how to set priorities.
Dyami Dancers are dedicated young ladies who work hard to accomplish their goals. They are positive role models for the school and community. If you are interested in learning more about the program, read over the material in this flyer and make plans to attend all mandatory events listed below!
Dyami Dancers Performance Team & Dyami Dancers Dance Team
There may be two teams: The performance team and dance team.
The purpose of leveling the dance team is to address the growth within all LISD dance programs while still honoring the “no cut philosophy.” Leveling the dance program allows us to build a strong technical foundation for each member based on their current level and overall knowledge of the art of dance. This program structure will better prepare students for the rigors of high school dance team.
Leveling will take place during the week of tryouts.
If we do not level into two teams, all dancers will follow the performance team practice/performance schedule.

Dyami Dancers Audition Clinic - 3 days
March 3rd & 4th before school from 7:30 - 8:45 am in the Big Gym
March 5th after school from 4:30 - 7:30 pm in the Small Gym
What to wear- Black leggings, black t-shirt or tank, jazz shoes or tennis shoes.
Mandatory Team Fitting Date
Date - April 9th
Time: 4:45 pm - 6:00 pm
Location- CRMS dance room
**Payment due at fitting
**The time will be divided by alpha last name to prevent overcrowding in the dance room.
A - M - 4:45 pm - 5:15 pm
N - Z - 5:15 pm - 6:00 pm
Mandatory New Team Practice
Date - Monday May 5th & Tuesday May 6th
Time - 7:30 am - 8:45 am
Location - Big Gym
Mandatory Summer Line Camp
Date - Monday July 14 - Thursday July 17
Time - 8:30 am - 4:00 pm

Line Camp Information
The Dyami Dancers will be joining all other LISD middle school dance teams to participate in the annual iDance line camp. This camp is a one of a kind opportunity where dancers will be able to learn from the best choreographers from all over the world. They will learn all of their dances for football season, plus be able to take technique sessions in hip hop, contemporary, jazz, ballet and more!
** It is a mandatory event for all Dyami Dancers. If your daughter is unable to attend, please notify me as soon as possible.
Important Things To Know Before Auditions
- Dyami Dancers is a year-long commitment.
- You can take Dyami Dancers along with any other elective except cheer and athletics.
- The Dyami Dancers Performance Team will practice weekly BEFORE school. The Dyami Dancers Dance Team will have some before or after-school rehearsals (if needed) prior to a performance.
- Attendance at practices/rehearsals/performances is one of the MOST important parts of our program. Please see handbook for a description of what are ‘excusable’ absences.
- Membership can be revoked for: Ineligibility for more than 6 weeks; Assignment to ISS or suspension; Accumulation of demerits (see handbook for more info); Missing Line Camp without an exemption.
