Tiger Talk

Last Week of School!
Dear Tiger Families,
We are just two days away from our Tigers' summer vacation. Be sure your Tiger takes home all belongings before May 22. I recommend that you check for belongings in our Lost and Found, too. We have two racks full of hoodies, sweaters, jackets, lunch boxes, and water bottles. If you don't claim your things by noon May 22, we'll have to donate them. Also, if you have medication that you left in care of Nurse Kate, be sure to pick that up by noon May 22, too.
Last Friday, teachers sent home End-of-Year Assessment Data. The growth of our students since the beginning of the school year is truly remarkable--thanks to the dedication of our amazing teachers and our Tigers' hard work. We have truly grown 1% Better Every Day! When you review your Tiger's progress, please take a moment to celebrate his/her hard work and achievements together. They’ve earned it!
Looking ahead, STAAR results for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Tigers will be available starting June 17 through the Texas Assessment Family Portal.
We were thrilled to welcome home our former Tigers who are now graduating seniors at Lake Travis High School. It was so fun to visit with them and their families this morning. We are very proud of them and honored that they chose to return to us this morning to walk our halls once again. We wish them every success and happiness.
In fact, I am proud of all of our Tigers and their growth this school year. Hearty congratulations to our 5th Grade Tigers who will be promoted to middle school Thursday. I can't wait to hear about your ROARING successes in middle school. And to all Tigers, I wish you a fun-filled summer. When our Kinder, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Grade Tigers return in August, I want to hear all about your vacations.
Once a Tiger, always a Tiger! Have a great summer!
Warmly,
Amy Russ, Principal

Nurse Kate Needs Clothing
Sometimes our Tigers have accidents that require a change of clothing.
Our clinic has run out of small undies, pants, and shorts and would be happy to receive new or gently used items for boys and girls if you have any that you can send our way, please and thanks!
We are especially in need of small sizes--size 6 and under.
Thanks for being PAWSitive, Tigers!
Tigers demonstrating PAWSitive behavior are nominated to have their names added to our WOW Board. WOW Board members are then eligible to win a fun brag tag and Buddy Pass. The Buddy Pass entitles each WOW Board member to enjoy lunch on the stage with a buddy of his/her choice.
This photo is of our WOW Board #14 Members--our last WOW Board for the 2024-2025 school year.
Congratulations, Tigers!

Returning Student Verification
Dear Lake Travis ISD Parents/Guardians,
We are pleased to announce the opening of Returning Student Verification for the 2025-2026 school year. This process is required to be completed for all students who will be returning for the 2025-2026 school year. If your child will not be returning to Lake Travis ISD for the 2025-2026 school year, please contact your campus registrar and submit the appropriate withdrawal form.
To complete the Returning Student Verification process, the parent/guardian listed as the primary parent in Skyward should log into Skyward Family Access and click on the “Returning Student Verification 2025-2026” tile (refer to image below).
Please note, you will be required to verify and update information on your student, family, and residency. Current proof of residency documentation (fully executed lease agreement, signed closing documents, most recent property tax statement, mortgage statement, or property deed in parent's/guardian’s name), AND a current utility bill (water, electricity, or gas with parent's/guardian’s name) are a required portion of the online form.
While returning students are automatically enrolled for the coming school year, student information must be verified and/or updated annually. Therefore, the primary parent/guardian must complete the verification process for each child before August 1, 2025.
Once you have submitted the online form, the tile will no longer be available in Skyward Family Access under the student’s profile. You can view the online forms that have been submitted by navigating to 1. Main Menu > 2. Online Forms > 3. My Online Forms History (refer to image below).
The completion of this form assists your campus with planning for the 2025-2026 school year. We appreciate your participation!
Sincerely,
Marco Alvarado
Executive Director for Communications & Community Relations
It is that time of year again where we begin to work on our next school year schedule and class lists. The parent input form for the 25-26 school year is open! In making class assignments, our goal is to place each child in a class where he or she can be most successful.
A secondary goal is to also maintain a balance among classes in terms of gender, academic ability, disciplinary and social needs, learning styles, and individual needs of the students. All information shared is confidential and submitted electronically to West Cypress Hills Elementary administration.
We hope to make classroom assignments that will maximize the opportunity for your child’s success. If you have information you would like to have considered in your child’s placement, please complete and submit this form. Please limit your input to the way your child learns and any information we should consider.
WCH PTO Spirit Wear Store is Open 24/7!
Registration for Camp Save-a-Watt is now open! PEC’s free online summer camp offers various educational videos, lessons, crafts, and weekly activities to keep the learning going all summer. The eight-week camp encourages kindergarten through fifth-grade students to save energy, learn about electricity, and how to be safe around it.
Campers can also join us for in-person events like Solar Car Derby and Meet a Lineworker. This year, we will be adding two Egg Drop events where campers can put their engineering skills to the test by designing and building an egg-protecting contraption using recycled materials at home. Campers will test the effectiveness of their design as they watch it drop from a PEC bucket truck.
All campers who register before May 16 will receive a free camp t-shirt! Registration closes May 30. Visit mypec.com/camp to learn more and register today.
