Add/Drop Period for Schedule Changes
The add/drop period for schedule changes ends on Friday, September 22. During the Add/Drop Period (September 14-22), changes to student electives will be made under the following conditions:
1. Student receives written permission from the teacher, the curriculum coordinator, and their parent/guardian. Students should obtain the appropriate form in Guidance.
2. The courses being exchanged occur during the same scheduled block during the day.
3. The courses being exchanged will not be over/under-enrolled due to the student's departure or arrival in the course.
Students should meet with their guidance counselor to discuss any changes.
We hope that you will consider the Guidance team as the starting point for your questions - from how to contact a teacher to how to get involved in the school community to how to access the lunch schedule! Below are some of the main resources and supports your school counselor can provide:
- individual student appointments (students can sign up online) to discuss social-emotional, academic, and college and career topics
- meetings with parents/guardians to discuss ways to support their student and answer questions about post-secondary planning
- referrals to additional supports in the building including mental health support, academic support, and tutoring
- meetings to discuss course selection and schedule changes
- opportunities to learn about special opportunities such as internships, summer programs, and jobs
- communication through our Smore (newsletters are included with the principal’s emails and posted here), Guidance website, and student Google Classroom about events and resources
- evening presentations focused on topics such as post-secondary planning, financial aid, and more
Our Mental Health Counselors provide a variety of individual and small group support including:
- Individual or small group counseling
- Skill-building to help manage anxiety, stress, anger, depression, and grief
- Support to students who are in crisis or having thoughts of suicide or self-harm with safety planning
- Assistance navigating conversations with teachers or peers
- Connecting with outside resources
