Senior Newsletter
Seniors and senior parents, please use the MRHS Senior Year Newsletter (https://app.smore.com/n/4gnuf) to guide you through post-secondary planning, including researching and applying to colleges, enlisting in the military, preparing for a career, applying for financial aid and more! This newsletter can be translated into many languages.
Financial Aid-Graduation Requirement
In Texas, graduating seniors are required to either apply for financial aid or submit an opt-out form. Please see our Financial Aid Newsletter (https://app.smore.com/n/8avhe) for guidance on meeting this graduation requirement.
For those planning to go to college, applying for financial aid is also an important step in trying to make college more affordable. Please prioritize completing this requirement before the end of October!
SAT-Last Chance
For seniors planning to go to college, if you need to retake the SAT, there are only two more dates to test in time for college applications. Today is the deadline to register for the November SAT. Register at www.collegeboard.org.
Juniors will take their first SAT on March 16th - no registration required. Start studying now so you'll have the score you need before college application season begins next year!
College Visits
If your high schooler is considering college, this is the perfect time to visit college campuses! Some Texas college preview days are shown below, but that's not every college. To register for college campus visits, simply go to the college's website and search for "campus visits" or "preview day" in their search bar. Make it a family event and start exploring no matter what grade you're in!
