Dear Wildkat Families,

As we begin the 2025–2026 school year, I want to take a moment to share how proud and excited I am to welcome your children back to our campuses. Last year was filled with incredible moments—honoring our dedicated staff, celebrating student successes, and watching our graduates take the stage. These celebrations reminded me just how strong, determined, and connected our Wildkat community truly is.

Over the summer, the work didn’t stop. I had the opportunity to meet with every principal, department director, and member of our Board of Trustees. Together, we aligned our focus around one clear purpose: ensuring every student in Willis ISD is known, supported, and challenged to achieve at the highest levels.

Our Strategic Plan continues to guide us and is centered on the following beliefs:

  • Quality education creates growth opportunities for current and future generations of WISD staff, students, and community.
  • Everyone has the potential for growth through genuine relationship building and guidance.
  • All students have unique interests and strengths that lead them to their own learning path to success.
  • Successful outcomes are achieved by all, when provided engaging and diverse opportunities in a safe environment.

Our leadership teams have spent the summer preparing for a smooth and successful start—one grounded in academic excellence, student well-being, and a unified vision for the future. Whether this is your first year in Willis ISD or your final year as a proud Wildkat parent, we’re grateful to have you with us.

As we open our doors, we’re not just starting another school year—we’re moving forward together with clarity, purpose, and Wildkat pride.

I can’t wait to see our students back in our classrooms, hallways, and cafeterias—smiling, learning, and thriving.

Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!

Go Kats!

We are excited to welcome our students and families back for another great year in WISD! To help ensure a smooth and safe start to the school year, we will be hosting Meet the Teacher on August 7 and 8 at Roark EEC and our elementary campuses. This event provides students and families the opportunity to meet their teachers and become familiar with their new classroom environment before the first day.

We strongly encourage families to attend Meet the Teacher as a way to reduce campus crowding on the first day of school.

For parents planning to drop off students on the first day, please see the information below to help you plan your morning.

First Day of School Information:

  • 7:00 AM
    • Elementary campuses open for first day drop-off.
  • 7:00 AM – 7:45 AM
    • Parents who choose to do so may escort their students to their classrooms.
  • 7:45 AM
    • Parents give last hugs and leave for the start of the school day.
    • Normal daily sign-in procedures begin with everyone needing a badge or Raptor sticker for building entry.

Parents registering new students after the start of the school day will sign in through Raptor.

We appreciate your support in creating a welcoming, organized, and safe start to the school year for everyone! If you have any questions, please get in touch with your campus.

My Ride K-12

My Ride K-12 gives you instant access to your child’s bus route, pickup location, and schedule. It also enables the district to send real-time notifications about delays, changes, or other important updates. If your student rides the bus, this app is ESSENTIAL; it’s the primary way our transportation team communicates with families.

*Please note that this year, each student will be given a student ID to scan when boarding and exiting the bus.

To download the new app: Visit the App Store or Google Play Store, type in "My Ride K-12" and select "Install/Download/Get," or click the links below.

Education is a team effort. Students, parents, teachers, and other staff members working together will make this a successful year.

The Willis ISD Student Handbook is designed to align with law, board-adopted policy, and the Student Code of Conduct, a board-adopted document intended to promote school safety and an atmosphere for learning.

The Student Handbook is not meant to be a complete statement of all policies, procedures, or rules in any given circumstance. In case of conflicts between board policy (including the Student Code of Conduct) and any Student Handbook provision, the district will follow board policy and the Student Code of Conduct.
