From the Counseling Department

Happy New Year and welcome back! We hope you all enjoyed your holidays and that your students are feeling refreshed after some time off. We know the holidays can be difficult, especially this last year, but we are hopeful as we return. We are quickly approaching the half way mark in this school year, which means it is time to start thinking about next year. We will be helping your students navigate their schedule choices for next year and encourage you to have conversations at home about what courses may be a good fit for your student and their future plans. There will be more information on registration coming, look out for those emails and posts in the next few months.

The time has come for the class of 2023 to explore Career Tech Options at Lancaster High School. LHS has 12 Career Tech Programs on site. Information about the programs have been and will continue to be posted in the Class of 2023 Google Classroom

Students will be given the opportunity on January 11th to attend virtual zooms showcasing the CT programs of their choosing. Students MUST REGISTER FOR THESE ZOOMS by January 8th. The following links contain information about our CT programs, including the links to sign up. Please note to sign up, you must be logged in to a lcsschools.net email account.

Applications for the Programs will open on January 13th through a google form posted in the Class of 2023 Google Classroom. Program Acceptance will be announced around February 19th.

Join Academic Boosters via Zoom on January 11th at 6:30pm for information about financial aid and scholarships. Speakers will be Penny Wasem of Lifetime Financial Planning Solutions, LLC and Amy Eyman of the Fairfield County Foundation.

The Zoom link will be emailed out on Monday, January 11th to those who register.

If your student is interested in taking College Credit Plus (CCP) next year, an informational video will be sent out the week of January 19th. This video will cover information about the application process, the eligibility requirements and the pros and cons of CCP. We will follow up with a live Question & Answer session on January 25th at 6:00 pm. If you have additional questions after watching the informational video and would like to attend the virtual Q & A Session, please sign up at the link below. The Zoom link for the Q & A session will be emailed out on Monday, January 25th to those who register.
