The Weekly Highlander 2025-2026

Dear Highlander Families:

Thursday, October 23rd, Report Card Night - 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm. TUSD middle schools have changed to a report card night this year in place of fall conferences. Report Card Night is a time for parents and families to come and have quick check-ins with their teachers to see how your students are doing. Your student's report card will be available in Aeries before this event takes place. All teachers will be in the gym at tables, available for quick conversations with parents. Our counseling team will be offering parent workshops in the MPR focused on supporting academics for your middle school student. We hope to see you on Thursday evening.

Highlander for a Day is a recognition program at Hewes Middle School that celebrates students for incredible moments of Winning the Day the Highlander Way. Students are recognized for working hard, including others, never giving up, controlling their responses, choosing to act above the line, and taking extreme ownership of their 20 square feet. These are the habits and mindsets that shape our Highlander culture, and we are so proud to share them with our entire school community.
