Lyric the Therapy Dog Opt Out

Starting in mid November we will have regular visits by Lyric a trained service dog. She and her handler used to visit regularly. We understand that some studnets may have allergies, fears, or personal preferences that make them uncomfortable around dogs. If you'd like to discuss your concerns or opt out of participating in visits with the dog please email the School Counselor, Susan Bacher at Susan_Bacher@bedfordps.org by November 15th. More information is shared below.

MONDAY NOVEMBER 4th is Voting day for Davis School

Students are voting for either A DAY OF PLAY or “POD PRIDE” DAY

On Monday November 4th, Davis School students will participate in a school wide voting day! In recognition of election day on Tuesday, November 5th, we want to find a way for students to make a meaningful connection to this major event. Giving students the opportunity to vote for a Davis School spirit day teaches them about the process of voting and engages the Davis community in choosing a fun school wide event.

Our goals for students during this election year are:

1. To understand that one way to create change is to share your opinion through voting.

2. To understand that everybody has a right to an opinion and everybody’s opinion matters.

On Monday Nov 4th students will cast a vote for having a ‘Day of Play’ where students will take part in playful community building activities during school or ‘Pod Pride Day’ in which students can dress the color of their pod. The spirit day will take place on Wednesday, November 27th.

Annual Military Impact Aid Survey

Dear Bedford Community,

As we do each October, we are asking for parent/guardian cooperation in filling out a survey form to meet the requirements of Public Law 874. Under the provisions of Public Law 874, Bedford Public Schools must conduct an annual Military Impact Aid Survey.

The Town of Bedford receives a substantial sum of money under this provision, which lowers the cost of education to the taxpayers. Please help us identify all federally connected students whose families are Active Duty Military, live on Hanscom AFB, work on federal facilities (including Hanscom AFB, Bedford VA, Boston VA, Lincoln Public School on HAFB, Lincoln Labs, Mitre) or are Active Duty Military!

Our yearly survey is fully electronic with e-signature.

Parents/Guardians will be emailed a unique survey for each enrolled child. It is very important that all surveys are completed and electronically signed for each student, as reimbursement is made for all eligible students on a per pupil basis.

We thank you very much for your assistance with this important annual survey.

Sincerely,

Cliff Chuang 莊 宏 毅

Superintendent, Bedford Public Schools
