Dear MTC Families,

November is a wonderful time to pause and reflect on all we are grateful for. At MTC we are especially thankful for our students, staff, and families who continue to help make MTC such a caring and connected school community.

Celebrating Keene’s Best! 🏅
MTC was once again recognized in Keene’s Best! This year, we received Silver for Best Elementary School and Silver for Best Preschool. We are proud of this recognition and grateful to the staff, students, and families who make our school such a special place to learn and grow.

Hannaford Helps Schools 💲
Thanks to the generosity and participation of our school community, MTC raised $486 through the 2026 Hannaford Helps Schools program! A total of 117 coupons were redeemed and directed to our school.

Thank you to everyone who participated and supported MTC!

Pumpkin Carving Success 🎃
Our first evening Pumpkin Carving event was a huge success, with more than 500 people joining us!

This was our first opportunity to gather as our new school community, and it was wonderful to see so many students, families, and staff together in one space enjoying the same activity. Thank you to our staff who helped make the event possible and to all of the families who were able to join us.

Halloween Fun 👻
We had a fantastic Halloween celebration last week! Our students and staff paraded across the street and through the high school, where they were cheered on by middle and high school students and staff.

This has quickly become one of our favorite MTC traditions. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day safe, fun, and memorable for our Husky Pups!

i-Ready Assessments ✏️
Our fall i-Ready assessments for students in grades K–6 are complete. Families should have received an individual student report for both math and reading/literacy.

If you have not received your child’s reports, please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher.

A Reminder About Candy 🍬
Following Halloween and as we head into the holiday season, we often see an increase in the amount of candy coming to school.

We are asking families to help us limit the amount of candy students bring during the school day. One piece of candy is fine, but candy should not be sent as a student’s snack or make up a significant portion of lunch.

Thank you for partnering with us in helping students make choices that support a successful school day.

Toys & Personal Belongings 🧸
Please remind students to keep toys and other personal belongings at home unless a teacher has specifically invited them to bring something to school.

Personal items can easily become lost, damaged, or distracting during the school day.

Lost & Found 🧥
Our Lost and Found is already quite full! We regularly encourage students to look through it, but we do not have the space to store unclaimed items indefinitely, so items are donated periodically.

If your child is missing a coat, sweatshirt, lunchbox, water bottle, or other item, please encourage them to check the Lost and Found. Labeling belongings with your child’s first and last name also makes it much easier for us to return items.

Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and support. We are grateful to have you as part of our MTC community!

With appreciation,
Mrs. Suarez

Hello MTC Families!

Technology and the internet are a growing part of our children’s everyday lives. As children spend more time on devices, accessing videos, games, social media, and online content, it is important that we help them develop healthy technology habits from an early age.

What Can Families Do?

Set clear boundaries: Decide when and where devices can be used. Consider having device-free times during meals, homework, family time, and before bed.

Know what your child is accessing: Regularly check the apps, games, websites, and videos your child is using. Use parental controls and age-appropriate privacy settings when available.

Talk about what they see online: Create an environment where your child feels comfortable coming to you if they see something confusing, scary, or inappropriate.

Protect sleep: Consider keeping devices out of bedrooms at night and establishing a consistent screen-free period before bedtime.

Make room for real-world activities: Encourage time for outdoor play, hobbies, reading, creative activities, family time, and face-to-face interactions.

Model healthy technology use: Children learn from what they see. When possible, put your own phone away and be present during family time.

If you have questions or need help setting boundaries, please feel free to reach out and we would be happy to talk more with you.

Sincerely,

MacKenzie Rokes and Morgan Braniff
