Home Connection of the Week
Use this question each week to engage your student at home with the learning that your is doing at school.
Kindergarten
Ask more and fewer questions about objects around the home.
Ex: Are there more carrots or peas on your plate? Which pile of blocks has fewer?
1st Grade
What would life be like without light?
2nd Grade
Ask your child to share their opinion about a topic. Encourage them to:
-Tell their opinion (what they think).
-Give a reason (why they think that).
-Share an example (something that shows their reason).
Example: “I think recess is the best part of the day because I get to play with my friends. Yesterday, I played soccer with my friend.”
3rd Grade
Identify and talk about different pushes and pulls you see at home.
Ex. You pull to open the refrigerator and you push to close it.
4th Grade
Can you find evidence that energy is being transferred from place to place by sound, light, heat, and electric currents?
5th Grade
What is your favorite part of the U.S. Constitution? Explain why.

Week 8: Halloween Safety "Fun is Safer with a Plan"
Costumes, candy, and excitement can make Halloween magical—but safety should come first. Help your child choose a costume that's easy to see in the dark and safe to move in. Talk about staying in groups, only visiting well-lit homes, and checking treats before eating. Whether trick-or-treating or attending a school party, planning ahead helps keep everyone safe.
