Greetings Franklin Community!

As the days get longer and the temperatures start to warm, it’s a clear sign that spring has arrived! We’re excited to welcome the change in season and all the fun activities that come with it. Whether you're looking to enjoy the fresh air, try something new, or get active, we have something for everyone this spring.

We also have some big news to share: starting April 1st, we’ll be launching a new registration system called Arux! This new platform will make signing up for all our programs easier than ever before. The first registrations available will be for Summer Kids Camp 2025 and Early Bird Registration for Kids Club for the 2025-2026 school year. To register for these programs and future ones, everyone will need to create an account on Arux. Directions have been mailed out to you, and you can find further instructions on our website to help you get started.

As we move into the spring season, we’re excited to announce the start of our Youth Volleyball League and Youth Soccer League! These leagues are a fantastic way for kids to stay active, have fun, and develop teamwork skills. We can’t wait to see everyone hit the courts and fields!

In addition to these leagues, we encourage you to check out our activity guide and sign up for one of our wellness programs to nourish your body, mind, and soul. Whether you're interested in fitness, arts, or outdoor activities, we have something to keep you engaged and feeling good all season long.

Looking ahead, be sure to keep an eye out for our Summer Recreation Guide, which will be available soon. You’ll be able to register for all summer programs starting May 1st through the new Arux system. We have a full summer planned, and we’re excited to offer you plenty of opportunities to enjoy the warmer months.

As the season shifts and we step into the energy of spring, we’re thrilled to offer you a fresh and easy way to engage with our programs. We hope you’ll take advantage of all the exciting opportunities coming your way. Let’s make this a season full of fun, fitness, and wellness!

Warm regards,
Matt Gomez

Character Kids Presents: Willy Wonka Kids! 🍫🎭

"Building Character...Onstage and Off" and that's just what we strive to do!

This March, Character Kids, our after-school theater program, brought the magic of Roald Dahl’s beloved story Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to life with their production of Willy Wonka Kids. The talented group of young performers, from grades 2-5, took the stage for two incredible live performances on March 6th and March 7th at Southwood Glen Elementary School, delighting an audience of around 400 families and community members.

Character Kids is an after-school program that teaches students the art of theater, from developing characters and staging mini shows to learning songs and dances from famous musicals. Willy Wonka Kids showcased all of these skills as students portrayed the unforgettable adventures of Charlie Bucket in Willy Wonka’s mysterious chocolate factory. Their performances were nothing short of marvelous, with the children displaying incredible talent, enthusiasm, and dedication.

A huge thank you to the Character Kids team and their amazing staff for guiding these young performers to success! 🎉

If your child is interested in theater and wants to explore the world of acting, singing, and dancing, be sure to check out our Recreation Guide for more information on the Character Kids Program and how to register. We do offer Summer Theatre Camps!

🌟 We can’t wait to see what these talented young stars will do next! 🌟

MEET OUR VERY OWN YOGA INSTRUCTOR

Hi! I'm Jane Christensen, aka, Yoga Jane, and also a 1971 FHS Grad!

I've been happily teaching fitness classes since 2002 and, specifically, yoga and core over the past 15 years for the Franklin Rec Department. Over this time I've gained many loyal followers, most of whom I can confidently call my friends.

My class participants bring a wonderful energy which allows us to focus on mind, body and breath with a bit of fun and laughter. Group exercises classes are the best part of my day and hope you'll join us and make it part of yours!

Fun Fact: I met my husband of 46 years at FHS (class of '70). Still Franklin High School sweethearts!

A big thank you to Jane for being an incredible part of our Rec Team! We truly appreciate all the hard work, dedication, and passion you’ve put into your role. Your yoga classes have been a wonderful addition to our department and community, and we are so grateful for the positive impact you’ve made. Thank you, Jane – much appreciated!
