A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Members,

For me, the spring semester flies by, and I find myself rushing from one thing to the next. Before I know it, it is summer. I recently had breakfast with a retired dean, and I asked her to share some advice she would like to pass on to the next generation of leaders.

"I wish I had celebrated the wins longer than I did," she told me. "Something great happens but we so often don't enjoy the moment long enough and look what's next."

It is a great reminder to enjoy those moments where something great is accomplished, whether a publication, promotion, project, or something else.

NAKHE has many opportunities for members to enjoy success, but time is ticking to apply to several of them. The deadline for applications include:

  • Department Head Certification Training: March 15th
  • Leadership Development Workshop: April 15th
  • Leader Mentor Program: April 15th
  • Engaged Scholar Program: April 15th
  • Hellison Interdisciplinary Research Grant Program: April 15th

More information about the application process can be found below, and on our website at NAKHE.org. I encourage you to take advantage of the opportunities your membership affords you.
