CAASPP TESTING
CAASPP Testing for 3-5th grade begins! Testing will take place beginning on April 28, 2026.
These tests are an important part of our academic program and provide valuable insights into how students are progressing in key subject areas like English Language Arts and Math. The results help teachers tailor instruction to better support your child’s learning and guide improvements at the school level.
How You Can Help Your Child Succeed:
Here are a few simple ways to support your student during testing weeks:
Ensure a Good Night’s Sleep: Help your child get at least 8–10 hours of sleep the night before testing days. A well-rested brain is a ready brain!
Start the Day with a Healthy Breakfast: A balanced breakfast can help students focus and perform better. If needed, your child can also eat breakfast at school.
Be On Time: Arriving at school on time helps your child start the day with confidence and without added stress.
Encourage a Positive Attitude: Let your child know you believe in their abilities. Remind them to take their time, do their best, and stay calm.
Minimize Stress at Home: Try to keep mornings and evenings during testing weeks calm and relaxed. This helps students stay focused and confident.
We appreciate your support in helping all students do their very best on the CAASPP! If you have any questions or need additional information, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or the front office.
Thank you for being our partners in your child’s education!
Donations still needed for CAASPP Testing!
We would like to thank everyone who donated snacks for our first week of CAASPP Testing. Classrooms are still seeking healthy snack donations! Nourishing students’ bodies and minds will help them focus and perform their best!
Consider making a donation of:
Granola bars
Goldfish crackers
Nutrigrain bars
Pretzels
Graham Crackers
All snacks must be individually packaged and store bought.
Donations can be dropped off in the office. Make sure to indicate which classroom it is for or if it is a general donation.

National Tell a Story Day
Monday, April 27 is National Tell a Story Day. It’s a simple, fun chance for families to share stories together—by speaking, listening, and using imagination. When children tell and hear stories, they build communication skills, confidence, and creativity. Parents and other adults can also pass down family or cultural stories that connect children to their history.
Here are quick, easy activities you can do at home:
Create Your Own Story — Ask your child to invent a short story. They can draw pictures, make puppets, or write a few lines. Help them add details and share the finished story with the family.
Story Circle — Sit in a circle and take turns adding a sentence or scene to a shared story. This builds listening, cooperation, and creative thinking.
Read-Aloud Favorites — Invite your child to read a favorite book or a short passage to you. Praise their expression and bravery to boost public-speaking confidence.
Storyboarding — Have your child sketch a simple storyboard or comic strip to plan a story’s beginning, middle, and end. This helps organize ideas and develop narrative skills.
Dramatic Reenactments — Act out scenes from familiar stories together. Use costumes or props if you like—this makes character, plot, and emotion more vivid and memorable.
Try one activity this week or mix several. Keep it low-pressure and fun—celebrate imagination and the time spent together.
