News Fromthe RanchJanuary 18, 2026, Vol. 1, Issue 22

Dear TRE Family,

To all the parent volunteers that help make TRE a special place, thank you! We loved getting to celebrate and thank all of you at the Volunteer Tea on Friday. Special thanks to Ms. Lupe and Mrs. Chaplin for helping to set up a wonderful celebration. We are truly grateful for each and every one of our TRE volunteers!

On Monday, we celebrated our TRE Every Student Succeeding award recipient, Addison Perraie. Despite facing life's challenges, she shows up every with a smile ready to engage in learning. She is a kind, inclusive cool coyote. Congratulations, Addison!

This week, we welcomed new prospective families to Tustin Ranch during school tours. PAL leaders kicked off our tours sharing a favorite memory from TRE, as well as why they love TRE. These students were a wonderful representation of all that makes TRE special. They highlighted their love of their teachers and relationships with their peers, all the fun PTA family nights, and the opportunity to go on amazing field trips. Additionally, we welcomed educators and leaders from Estock Elementary, TUSD district office, and OCDE for math walkthroughs and learning lab days. We continue to learn and grow as a Math Lab Demonstration school in problem-based, student-centered math education. Our scholars continue to impress our visitors with their critical thinking skills, their ability to communicate their mathematical thinking, and the flexibility they are gaining in building conceptual understanding in math. It was a great week on the ranch!

Outdoor Science School: April 21-24

Thank you to those who attended the 5th Grade Outdoor Ed Parent/Guardian Info Session in person and online. We hope you were able to get all of your questions answered. Outdoor Ed is a wonderful experience for our TRE students. We hope you will consider sending your child. In January, a detailed packet of information and forms to complete will come home, and we will begin to collect a $100 deposit or full payment to reserve your child's spot. Please review the FAQ document below that we sent home at the Info Session. If you have any new questions, please reach out to your child's teacher or review the Three Oaks website at https://threeoaksoss.com/.

Update: We have been awarded a $1,500 Title1grant that will help offset some costs, as well as our PTA is supporting a portion of field trips this year which will help reduce the cost to families. We have been able to reduce the cost per child to attend. As shared at the meeting, originally, the cost would have been $450 per student. Final cost per student will now be only $370.

All 5th graders should have brought home a new flyer (also below) in their Friday Folder. If your 5th grader will be attending Outdoor Science School, please return the form with either a deposit or payment in full.

Outdoor Ed Cost: $370/student

Deposit due to your 5th grade teacher by 1/23/26: $100
