Congratulations to JC 5th Graders! Congratulations to JC 5th Graders!

Pre-k were invited to attend our fellow JC 5th graders at their graduation ceremony as they are on their way to the middle school next school year. We talked about how fun and important school is and that one day we (preschoolers) will be in 5th grade too. They were so happy to clap along with the crowed of people each time a 5th grader stood up.

We are so proud of you 5th graders! Thank you for setting a great example for us!

Sicence - Bye Bye Butterflys

It was the time to send our beautiful butterfly's out into the big world. We discuss that we help the caterpillars change into butterfly's however, since they are an insect they belong to nature. The class reviewed all the amazing things we learned about about butterfly's. We sat in the grassy area towards the front of the building, right in front of the flower garden. Each time we let a butterfly go, they flew back towards us! It was hard to say good-bye to the butterfly's however, we are happy to know that they will pollinate and help all types of flowers grow!

4th Grade Roller Coaster Presentations

The 4th grade classes invited us to see their roller coaster creations! They've been working in groups with their classmates and constructing a roller coaster. We had fun going to the media center and seeing how the roller coasters work. This was a collaborative way for preschool to learn that working together you can build anything. As well, the 4th graders working on presentation skill and explaining to us what, how and who made the roller coasters.

Social Emotional Learning

In early childhood, children begin to recognize that people can feel and think different things about the same situation. This skill is an important part of social perspective taking. Without this understanding, children would not consider the existence of any perspective other than their own.

Children will be able to:

1. Compare what is the same and what is different about two objects

2. Identify whether they feel the same as or different from others in response to scenarios. People can have different feelings about the same things and it is okay for people to have different feelings about the same thing.
