A NOTE FROM MRS. TOOMEY

Wow, has October flown by! It has been filled with so many highlights -- our curriculum is running full steam ahead and the students are so invested in their learning. In addition, October has been packed full with spirit days to raise money for community organizations and awareness days to learn about citizenship and respect!

On behalf of all staff and students at Hope Elementary School, I would like to recognize the dedication of our PTA members and parent volunteers. With the support of Hope families, the PTA covers the costs of admission and buses for field trips, special classroom supplies, assemblies, and much more. Our PTA also plans events that create meaningful and special memories for our students. To date, they have sponsored and coordinated our Annual Trunk or Treat, a bake sale at the Scituate Art Festival, and our Rhythm Room in-school assembly. The school community looks forward to a continued partnership with the best and most supportive parent group around!

As always, I encourage you to reach out with any suggestions, questions, or concerns.

UNITY DAY

On October 18th, Hope students participated in Unity Day. Students wore orange, showing that we are together against bullying and united for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.

PINK DAY!

Hope Elementary students participated in a district-wide Pink Out Day, in order to raise funds for The Gloria Gemma Foundation. We are proud to announce that Hope raised over $300 to donate towards research, programming, and support services!

RHYTHM ROOM

On October 24th, students in Grades K-5 were able to attend The Rhythm Room Assembly sponsored by our awesome Hope PTA! The Rhythm Room explores music by combining discussion, demonstration and participation. The use of world percussion, drum set, buckets and exploring percussion from objects and one’s own body (clapping, stomping, etc.) is educational as well as motivational and fun.
