Community Updates

  • Tuesday, November 11 - Veteran's Day Holiday - No School

  • Vision screenings will be done on 11-12-2025 for all 7th graders. Please contact our school nurse if you have any questions or if you would like to opt-out your child for vision screening at school.
  • November is National Career Development Month (NCDM), and Pender County Schools CTE invites you to celebrate with us! Attached you’ll find a calendar of events featuring Career Video Links, a Flipgrid Activity, and details for our NCDM Spirit Week. Throughout the month, we’ll focus on helping students explore career options, connect their interests to real-world opportunities, and prepare to become Enrolled, Enlisted, or Employed upon graduation. HERE Is the link to the National Career Development Month website.

  • Over the next couple of weeks, students enrolled in CTE courses will be participating in a short CTE Course Evaluation Survey during class. The survey is completely anonymous and will not collect any personal information from students.
The purpose of this survey is to gather valuable student feedback to help us improve instructional strategies, classroom experiences, and CTE programming across the district.
If you prefer for your child not to participate in the survey, please notify your child’s CTE teacher or contact the school to opt out.
Thank you for your continued support of Career and Technical Education in Pender County Schools. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdDgZFduDBfvwT9KvziCezwmw8H0o1405GiLJQ541tzoTn4hQ/viewform?usp=sharing&ouid=115590087209653973425

  • This November, Pender County Schools is launching a district-wide food drive to support local organizations that provide meals and essential resources for families in need throughout our community.
Throughout the month, every school in the district will collect non-perishable food items, ensuring that all donations stay local to benefit Pender County families. This initiative brings together students, staff, and families in a united effort to make a meaningful difference during the holiday season.
    Requested donation items include:

    • Cereal, canned tuna, canned chicken, peanut butter, and condiments.
    • The district is also collecting individually packaged snacks such as granola bars, Pop-Tarts, tuna packets, beef jerky, crackers, ramen noodles, pudding cups, Jell-O cups, fruit cups, Rice Krispie treats, and Cheez-Its.

“This food drive is about more than filling bins, it’s about filling hearts,” said Superintendent Dr. Brad Breedlove. “It’s a reminder that even small acts of generosity add up to something powerful when we come together.”
Collection bins will be available at all schools throughout November, and families are encouraged to participate and help spread kindness and compassion across the community.
Together, we can make a real impact, supporting the organizations that support Pender County.
