Happy First Day of School!
Update: August 12
We have greeted our Huskies, practiced expectations, settled into classrooms, and confirmed all student transportation for dismissal. We are set up for an amazing end of day and dismissal.
Please remember that dismissal will take longer for the first few days.
- Car Rider parents must have a car rider tag to be scanned. Stay in the order you arrive and are scanned. Switching lanes will cause delays. Remain in your car and please do not park and walk in. Each parked car delays dismissal. If you are in need of a car rider sign, you will be asked to pull to the front parking spots (past the crosswalk) and then come in to the front office once the car rider line is completed.
- Walker/biker parents must have a walker/biker pick up tag for PK-1st grade. Independent walkers are walked to the end of the sidewalk and released to walk home.
- Bus Rider parents, we appreciate your patience in student arrival times. The routing drop off times shared by the transportation department will vary during these first few days. We recommend utilizing the Smart Tag Parent app so you can see the route your child is on. The notification feature is very helpful. PK and Kinder students will not be released to get off the bus without the parent presenting a PK and K Bus tag. Be sure to have this at pick up each day.
- For more details about dismissal and operational needs, please view our Parent Guidelines linked in the Parent Dashboard.
I greatly appreciate your attendance at Meet the Teacher and attention during our Welcome message in the cafeteria. If you were unable to attend or would like to review the information. The presentation is linked here.
Our CISD Police Department is seeking an additional crossing guard for our Hope Elementary zone! If you are interested in joining the team, please apply online here.
We would LOVE to see your "First Day of School" pictures on our Facebook page. Add those smiles in the comments!
As needs arise, please call the school, email the contacthope@conroeisd.net address, or contact your child's teacher.
Husky Proud!

Proud Principal for Hope Elementary
A Message from Mrs. Upshaw
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! To our returning Huskies, I am excited to see your smiling faces and look forward to a hug or high five from you in a few days! To our new Huskies, I am looking forward to greeting you warmly, getting to know fun things about you, and welcoming you to your new school home!
As the proud principal of Hope Elementary, I am blessed to serve our Hope community for the 5th year. This is my 24th year in education and I know it will be an amazing one. I have served Conroe ISD as principal, assistant principal, and district instructional coach since 2010. Prior to Conroe ISD, I taught in Hudson ISD. I am a mom of two children, and my husband serves as a police officer in our area. While I grew up in the Southeast Texas area, Conroe has been home for more than 16 years. We love our Caney Creek feeder and Conroe community! My professional passion is to ensure all students learn and grow at high levels and become successful citizens who proudly represent our community. Connections are powerful in the success of our children and families. We want each of our students to do their best and achieve their goals, and each parent to know they are welcome in our school and to be connected to our community. We will celebrate growth loudly, highlight achievements proudly, and support each student along the journey!
This year, our school theme is “Hope: Our Happy Place!” because we know that children learn best from people they like and respect in a place they enjoy, are challenged, and supported. Our focus on growth for every single student showed great success and we are excited to keep the momentum going this year!

CC Feeder Zone & District Information
All students at Hope Elementary School are eligible to receive a free breakfast at school each day, regardless of household income.
This is a statewide effort to ensure children begin the school day well-nourished and ready to learn. We encourage all families to take advantage of this opportunity to support their child’s health and academic success.
Please note: While breakfast is free for all students, we strongly encourage parents to complete a Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application online. This determines eligibility for free or reduced-price lunch meals. Www.myschoolapps.com
