September 3, 2023 Getting Ready for Opening Day!
Academy Announcements
Dear Academy families and friends,
Less than two days to go. The students will be arriving for the first time in the 2023-2024 school year. We are so excited to welcome in the new school year, we hope you are as well. In preparation for the first day, please take a few minutes to review this newsletter from top to bottom as there will be some extra information for first day procedures:
1) Complete the student dismissal form if you have not done so before opening day.
2) Please review the arrival procedures with your child and what door her/his grade level will use for entering the building (see images below). Please remember that parents can walk the children to the exterior doors, then students will walk to her/his classroom by themselves.
3) Please remember that Tuesday, September 5th is a half day of school. Students will be dismissed at 11:50 sharp. If you are driving up to the Top Lot, please be sure to be up and parked before 11:45 as the lot closes prior to the children being dismissed. This ensures that students can walk safely without cars in motion.
4) Please be advised that there will not be food services or Champions on Tuesday. Both programs will begin on Wednesday, September 6th.
Have a wonderful rest of your Labor Day Weekend, We look forward to Tuesday with the students from 1st-5th as well as our Kindergarteners on Thursday, September 7th!
Let's make this year an amazing year together,
Mr. Higgins

Stay at a safe distance from the street and don’t play around while waiting for the school bus.
Wait for the school bus to stop completely before you move towards it to
Stay 10 giant steps away from the outside of the bus while the bus is pulling up so the driver can see you.
Be cautious of clothing or backpacks with drawstrings, toggles, or key chains that can get caught on the bus handrails and doors.
Hold the handrail going up and down the stairwell so you don’t trip.
Find a seat and sit down as soon as you’re on the bus.
Be courteous and respectful to your driver. Listen to directions.
Don’t put your head, arms, papers or anything out the window.
