It is our pleasure to welcome you back to campus for the 2023-2024 school year! This year will be filled with many opportunities to learn and grow as a student. We hope that you will bring your energy and enthusiasm with you as you fill the hallways and classrooms of Grove Middle School! It is our mission for all students to feel welcomed, connected, and seen this school year. The teachers at GMS spend hours creating engaging classroom activities throughout the year. It is our goal to promote optimal student learning by analyzing achievement data to help each student set goals for growth and improvement in many ways. Remember to strive for excellence not perfection.This year, you will be challenged to grow in your academic abilities to achieve success and we are here to help you every step of the way! It's almost time to have the best school year ever!

Drop off in the morning for Middle School students is on 10th street in the "Drop Off Zone" along the red barriers between 7:30-8:10 a.m. You can drop them off anywhere in the drop off zone; it doesn't have to be exactly at the gate. We want traffic to flow as smoothly and quickly as possible.

Pick-up in the afternoon is NOT in the "Drop off zone" but rather in the Middle School parking lot. You will park in a parking spot and wait for your student to meet you at your vehicle. We do this to keep traffic for the Lower Elementary and the Early Childhood Center flowing. Please refrain from parking and waiting in the Drop off zone or the fire lane to wait for your student.

7th and 8th grade students who already have chromebooks SHOULD bring them to school the first day. Make sure it's charged and ready to set up for Google Classroom and other online programs.

7th grade students must have their Tdap vaccination no later than Sept. 1st. Please make an appointment if they have not had their vaccine to avoid absences.

The Board of Education of the Grove Public Schools believes that a student dress code is

appropriate to maintain good order and decorum as an essential part of the school

district’s educational mission. Students are expected to dress appropriately and to

conduct themselves in a manner that will bring credit to themselves, their families and the

school.

Clothing must conceal undergarments at all times. No halter tops, strapless tops or

dresses, spaghetti straps, or low cut tops will be permitted. Tank tops or dresses that have

thin shoulder straps must measure 2 inches across at all parts of the strap. Muscle shirts,

undershirts, or cut out sleeves are not to be worn. All shirts must be able to be tucked in

when the arms are extended above the head.

Pants, shorts, skirts, and dresses must be no shorter than 8” from the seat of a hard chair

with the student’s knee bent placed in the chair. Holes, rips or tears must be below this

area.

Students in violation will be asked to change their attire on the first offense. If they cannot reach someone to bring them new clothing they will be detained in ISI until the dress code

violation is corrected. Future violations will result in Administrative discretion.
