Principal's Note
And just like that, we’ve welcomed all of our students, PreK–6th grade, back to school! We’re off to a great start.
A huge thank you to our staff for working tirelessly to create warm, welcoming spaces where students can learn, grow, and feel at home. Learn more about our staff: 2026–27 Staff Directory.
A Special Welcome to Our New Families
If you’re new to Gastineau, welcome! I’m Stacy Diouf, and I’m a lifelong Alaskan. My husband and I have two teenagers, and we’re part of our local soccer community—so you’ll likely find us on a soccer field most weekends!
This is my 7th year as principal, and I truly love being part of the Gastineau staff, families, and Douglas community. I hope to be here for many years to come!

Greetings from JPD’s new School Resource Officer, Kirt Stage-Harvey. Students and families arwelcome to call me Officer Starvey—a fun combination of my hyphenated last name.
Coming originally from Columbus, OH, I have called Juneau home for almost 19 years, and I have served with JPD for almost 13 years. Previously, I drove buses with Capitol Transit, served as an EMT Specialist, a certified flight instructor, and a carpenter. My wife, Pastor Tari, and I have three adult children who all graduated from TMHS.
At JPD, in addition to Patrol, I worked as a Detective for 6.5 years and I am a member of SWAT, JMART (crash investigation team), Honor Guard, and the Peer Support Team. I serve on the Board of the Capital City Chapter of the Alaska Peace Officers Association and look forward to serving the community through organizing the annual Shop With a Cop program.
Outside of work, I enjoy all that the outdoor Alaska life offers, CBJ adult recreation sports, international travel, and time with family and my church community.
As a new SRO, I am excited to partner with the JSD in the role of building positive relationships with students, staff, and families. I look forward to attending before and after school activities, lunch and recess times, and in teaching opportunities such as D.A.R.E., bike safety, and more.
