Principal Message
Hello Vasquez Families!
We hope this first 3 days of school have been a great start. Teachers and staff always love to have the students back. This is our job, our joy and although it's hard work, the students are what it's all about.
This next week is when our routines really start to take root. Things will smooth out and speed up as we repeat the processes and expectations. Truly, thank you for your partnership.

TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION
* Bus information is live in Skyward. If you have questions or concerns directly contact the transportation department. The volume of calls are at their peak right now, so please expect some delays. Also, please confirm any changes directly with your students' teacher, via email or ClassDojo prior to 2:30.
** Due to continued construction and a lack of sidewalks surrounding Vasquez, the City of Celina has not granted us guarded walkways or crosswalks. That means we will continue to have car rider and bus transportation procedures only. Car tags are required for car pick up. ALL STUDENTS that are in the VES attendance zone can request bus transportation. If you did not complete this portion at enrollment, please reach out to Bri Thompson @ briannthompson@celinaisd.com and she can help initiate that process.
Car Rider Traffic Patterns (Morning and Afternoon)
Kinder-4th grade car riders will get dropped off AND picked up in the FRONT of the school.
Pre-K car riders will drop off and pick up in the BACK. If you have older students, they will join the pre-k student for car rider in the back parking lot.
REMEMBER: All cars need the car rider tags. Otherwise you will need to park and go in the front door to show ID and be on the allowable pick up list in Skyward.
In BOTH drop off and pick up times, please stay in your car. Parking to walk your student up stops the flow of traffic and we do not have crossing guards. Stay in your car and utilize staff support at the curb to assist the students.
AlphaBEST After School Care
If you are unable to get your student by 3:05 and need a later pick up time, we have a partnership with AlphaBEST after school care. Scan the QR code for the enrollment information or visit alphabest.org/celinatx for pricing and scheduling.
After School Enrichment: Robotics, offered at VES.
Each Thursday, from 3:00-4:15 PM, starting August 20 until May 20th, we have a partnership with Wize Computing, Robotics and Coding. This is a STEAM enrichment course offered to all K-4 students. This is not a Celina ISD or Vasquez program, but we had a positive experience working with WIZE last year and are happy to announce they are returning.

We have registered Vasquez Elementary for BoxTops for Education!!! Scan the QR code for instructions. Things you already buy at the main grocery stores can send money back to VES, with just a few steps! Join today!
