Community Partnership Spotlight: Axes Physical Therapy
Many Webster Groves High School students interested in athletics and healthcare pursuits consider a future career in physical therapy. Physical therapists are licensed to work with patients who are impacted by injury or disease; they combine science with compassion to help injured individuals regain mobility, manage pain, and recover. In fact, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects the employment outlook for physical therapists through 2032 to rise at a pace "much faster than the average for all occupations."
Axes Physical Therapy has been an exceptionally generous Chelsea Center community partner, hosting individual students over ten times in the past year for personalized job shadows teaching the ways physical therapists work in a private practice setting. We are immeasurably grateful for their investment of time and talent in the students of WGHS. Thank you, Axes!
The Chelsea Center has many community partners dedicated to the growth and development of Webster Groves High School students. We couldn’t do this work without them! Are you interested in partnering with us? We’d love to have you! Please utilize the Get Involved–Community form on our website or email Dr. Kerry Arens, arens.kerry@wgmail.org to get in touch.
A+ Hours
Reminder: We can help students who are pursuing their A+ hours find connections to service learning that include the mentorship or job shadowing components the A+ program requires.
