Falcon Flyer for Families!
Leading, Learning and Growing Together!
October 4 & 11, 2026
We hope that take some time and enjoy October break! Students should return to school on TUESDAY, October 13. Quarter 2 will begin on Wednesday. Please take note of the district late policy that is described below. A great way to stay on top of assignments is to have Canvas send you a message with grade updates, and be sure to check PowerSchool Parent Portal, as well. Contact your grade level counselor, AP, or our registrar, Ms. Payne, if you need assistance logging in to the systems. There are modes of remediation/help if students need it, including working lunch and Enrichment/RTI time. Reach out to the teacher for assistance.

***District Late Work Policy for Middle Schools***
Late work is defined as a graded assignment that is not submitted by the established due date when the student was present at school and had the opportunity to complete and submit the assignment.
Students are expected to complete and submit assignments by the established due date. When a student is present but does not submit a graded assignment by the deadline, the assignment will be entered as a zero until the work is submitted.
Students will have two school days from the original due date to submit late work. Work submitted within the two-school-day window will be graded based on the student's demonstrated performance, with a maximum grade of 75.
After the two-school-day window has passed, the zero will remain unless an extension is approved due to documented extenuating circumstances or is required by a student's IEP, 504 Plan, or other applicable accommodation.
Late work procedures do not apply to assignments missed because of a student absence. Work missed due to an absence will be addressed according to the district's Make-Up Work procedures.
