The Weekly Update #4
August 22nd, 2025
Week of September 2nd
Greetings Knights, Parents, and Guardians!
We wrapped up three days of MAP testing this past week, and our scholars showed incredible focus and determination. They’ve certainly earned this three-day weekend, so we encourage everyone to take time to rest and recharge!
We are back next week, but it's a four-day learning week, and we want all students ready to dive back into their learning with energy and focus.
We also held our first club meetings on earlier today, and the excitement was contagious! Students were buzzing with enthusiasm about their new activities. Be sure to ask your scholar about their club experience, and remind them to uphold the expectations of their groups.
📌 Important Reminder: Please read through the rest of this newsletter carefully, as it includes information about a new bill that will affect whether your child is able to be seen by the nurse and/or counselor starting September 2nd.
🗳️ PTO Voting: Parents and community members can cast their votes for PTO members down below! Let’s get ready to have an amazing year with an amazing group of parents leading the way!
Overall, it’s been a fast, productive week, and we’re looking forward to even more growth after the long weekend. Thank you for your continued support in helping our Knights shine!

📣 Important Notice for SLA Parents & Guardians
In compliance with Texas Senate Bill 12, we are required to obtain your written consent for your child to receive campus-based, routine health-related services during the 2025–2026 school year.
It is imperative that you complete this form to either opt in or opt out before students return on Tuesday, September 2nd. This will ensure there is no confusion about whether or not your child may be seen by the school nurse or counselors.
👉 If you want to make sure your child can be seen by the nurse or counselor, you must provide consent using the form.
