Young parents and families,

Happy December!!

Just a few reminders:

School starts at 7:50am. Students are counted tardy after 7:55am. Tardies and leave earlies count against perfect attendance.

Attendance plays an important role in your student's academic career. The state of Texas says students must be in attendance 90% of the time to receive credit for his or her class. Please communicate with the office when your student is out. I appreciate your cooperation. Please let me know if you have any questions.

As the weather gets cooler, please send a jacket to school with your student. It is always a great idea to put their name in the neck of the jacket. (Just in case! ) Please also label water bottles, lunch boxes, etc.

Don't forget to visit our Young Webpage,

We are competing with the other DISD campuses in the "Keep Decatur Beautiful Challenge." We will compete to see which campus can collect the most plastic film products by weight. The campus that collects the most plastic film at the end of the school year will be rewarded with a Green Campus Trex bench.

The challenge starts now until May 10th, 2024.

The collection container is located outside of the library! Bring your plastic film recycle pile to Young! Help us win!!
