Wharton WildcatNewsletterMarch 12, 2021

Dear Families,

Thank you for yet another wonderful and stress-free supply pick-up on Thursday. We feel fortunate to have such supportive and kind families here at Wharton. If families were unable make it to school to pick up the supply bags, we will be reaching out to make sure you secure the supplies. Each student received some fun surprises in their bag this time. We hope the students enjoy them!

Please remember that teachers may be contacting you to schedule a conference, however if you would like to meet with your child's teacher, please do not hesitate to reach out to the teacher.

As we are quickly moving into spring, we will conitnue to provide the highest quality of education to your students as we prepare them for their transition to Heritage Middle School. To ensure we continue to maximize learning during the third and final trimester, please make sure students are engaged in learning on a daily basis and complete all activities and assignments from their teachers. Taking an active role in learning each day is crucial, and we know that each and every student can do this.

Educationally yours,

Dr. Shestine Gesbocker, Principal

Mrs. Sara Leone, Associate Principal

Women's History Month

March is identified as Women's History Month. Throughout the month, we celebrate the contributions and accomplishments of women throughout our history. To learn about Women's History Month, we have included a link from National Geographic Kids.

Wharton has been dedicated to supporting positive behavioral choices and the theory of PBIS for many years. As is such, staff acknowledge and reward positive behavioral choices made by students, and celebrate those choices by awarding students PAWS. These PAWS allow students to purchase items from a school and classroom incentive store. Even in the remote setting, we have been able to continue this work as we have begun using PBIS Rewards, an online platform which allows for a virtual school store. Students have been earning PAWS, and we are excited to offer students to opportunity to shop in our online stores. If you have any questions regarding PBIS or the PBIS Rewards platform, feel free to contact our PBIS coach and social worker, Ms. Schilsky, at mschilsky@sd104.us.
