May 27th - Important Updates
A Year to Celebrate!
What an incredible year it has been at Davis Elementary! As we close out another school year, we are filled with so much pride and gratitude for the amazing community we have built together.
This year, our students have truly soared. They have grown into confident readers, creative writers, skilled mathematicians, and bold problem solvers. Watching them take on new challenges, persist through hard moments, and celebrate each other's successes has been one of the greatest honors of our year. Beyond academics, our students have forged new friendships and deepened connections across our school community — and that is something to celebrate just as much.
To our fifth graders: you hold a very special place in the hearts of everyone at Davis. We have watched you grow into remarkable young people, and we could not be more proud of who you are. As you head to Thompson Middle School, know that you carry everything Davis has given you — and we have every confidence that you will do great things. We will miss you more than words can say.
To all of our Davis families, thank you for your partnership, your trust, and your support throughout this year. We hope you enjoy a summer filled with rest, fun, great books, travel, and quality time with the people you love most.
We can't wait to see everyone next school year — refreshed, recharged, and ready for another great year at Davis!
Warm Wishes,
Gina Shaw, Principal Davis Elementary School

Dear D303 Families,
We are excited to share that beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, D303 will be moving to a new Student Information System called Synergy.
For families and students, this means two new online portals for you to access important information: ParentVUE and StudentVUE. These will replace Home Access Center (HAC) as the way you stay connected with your student's gradebook, attendance, report cards, and so much more.
This transition is a step forward for our district, and our staff have been hard at work preparing for it. Behind the scenes, teams have been setting up the new system, transferring student data from our current system to Synergy, and training D303 employees so we are ready to support staff, students, and families.
What you need to know right now:
Home Access Center (HAC) will close on Friday, June 5, 2026. HAC needs to go offline so we can complete the data conversion to the new system. Once it closes, it will no longer be accessible.
End-of-year Report Cards will be available on HAC at 8:00a.m. on Monday, June 1st.
Please view and save your student's report cards before June 5, 2026.
In July and August, we will share more information about:
Creating your ParentVUE accounts
Logging in and accessing the new portals
A navigation overview to help you find what you need in the new portal
If you have questions about HAC or need help accessing it before it closes, please reach out to your school's front office.
Thank you for your patience and partnership as we prepare for this exciting change. We look forward to introducing you to ParentVUE and StudentVUE later this summer!
Sincerely,
D303 Communications
i-Ready Results
Students have completed i-Ready testing and results are available online. Please click HERE for an important letter and instructions about your student’s results. We highly recommend that you save a digital copy, or printout a paper copy, of this year’s results. When the school year resets on August 1st, you will no longer have access to this year’s i-Ready results.
Summer Learning Resources
Keep Learning during the Summer with i-Ready & Zearn!
As we head into summer I wanted to share an update regarding elementary Chromebooks. As a district, we will not be sending Chromebooks home for the summer with kindergarten and first grade students. If you did not send your child's chromebook and charger to school today, you can drop them off in the office later in the week.
All other students will be bringing their Chromebooks home for the summer. They will have access to iReady, Zearn and other district apps. YouTube will be turned off for the summer for all elementary students. I hope to see lots of kids outside playing in the neighborhood throughout the summer!
Please click HERE for the i-Ready Summer Flyer
Please click HERE for the Zearn Mathematics Summer Flyer

MEDICAL FORMS AND MEDICATION
Dear Parents,
It’s hard to believe there are only a few weeks of school left! This is a reminder that you will need to come to school to pick up your child's medication by the last day of school which is Wednesday, May 27th.
Medications that are not picked up at the end of the year will be disposed of according to the D303 policy.
This policy also does not allow medication to remain in the health office over the summer for reuse in the fall.
Medication must be picked up by a parent or adult designee with the parent’s permission.
If a Medication Self Carry/Administration form was completed, meds will be sent home with your child in their backpacks. That is only for inhalers, Epi pens and topical creams. Any pills or liquids still need to be picked up by a parent.
Looking ahead to the 2026-2027 school year, if your child requires medication or any action plans, your child will need new physician orders and action plans for the school year. Ideally have the physician date the forms following the last day of school. Forms can be found under health services on the D303 site or linked directly here:
All forms will need to be completed in full before any medications can be administered.
Kindergarten and 2nd grade students require a dental examination and form completed within 18 months prior to May 15th, 2026. A vision examination and completed State form is also required for incoming kindergarten students as well as a physical examination and a record of all immunizations.
These forms can be submitted to the main office or emailed to the school nurse. Please reach out if you have any questions.
Thank you!

Incoming 5th Grade Choir: Register in the Fall
Attention Future 5th Grade Families! Does your child like to sing? 5th grade choir is open to all D303 5th grade students! Anyone may join; there are no auditions. 5th grade students interested in learning more about vocal technique, unison and part-singing, and team building, all through a rich variety of vocal music repertoire, are encouraged to join choir! 5th grade choir will be held before school, one morning a week, and registration will begin in August. Stay tuned!
Attention 4th Grade Students - Join the Band in 2026-2027
This week, most 4th grade students tested some band instruments with our D303 band instructors. We could sense a huge amount of excitement! Your student should have brought home a packet with their recommended instrument, or instruments, if they wanted to think about which one to play.
There is a QR code for you to use on that packet that came home, to register for 5th grade band next year, along with information on how to rent an instrument. Alternatively, you may use the link HERE to register, and click HERE for more information.
*If you need assistance with getting an instrument, please contact me for options. Everyone has the opportunity to join the band!* Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. I'm happy to help in any way I can.

Join Orchestra in School Year 26-27
Recently, Davis 2nd graders attended a brief school concert presented by the Davis 5th Grade Orchestra. They listened to and learned about the string instruments – violin, viola, cello or the string bass. We hope that families will consider having your incoming 3rd grade student be part of our wonderful Davis Orchestra!
All students entering 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade next fall are welcome to participate in the elementary string program. Our goal is to provide meaningful learning experiences in music and develop individual student achievement and appreciation of music.
To find out more about D303 Elementary Orchestra, and to sign-up now, visit our website: D303 Elementary Orchestra Website
We are so excited to teach your child in orchestra next year!
Sincerely,
Ms. Kirstin Rohrbach and Mrs. Elisabeth Mezera

District 303 Updates
Make Your Voice Heard! Take the D303 Facilities Survey
Superintendent Dr. Paul Gordon shared an update this week on the School Board’s discussion of the Final Report submitted by the D303 Communitywide Education Facilities Committee.
D303 launched a communitywide Facilities Survey this week. As the Board considers potential facilities investments, we want input from all community members on this key question: What do you want your schools to look like and do for our students over the next 30 years?
And to help the community understand the current state of D303 facilities, Dr. Gordon shared a video recap of the Facilities Committee’s work and findings. Please take a little bit of time to watch the video and make your voice heard by taking the survey!
