Mr. Macken's Message
Centerville Families,
Brrrr… it is super cold out there today. While we were fortunate to already have no school scheduled for students today due to it being a grading and communication day, we know many schools around the state ended up closing because of the extreme temperatures. Stay warm and stay safe!
This is also a friendly reminder that Parent-Teacher Conference registration closes on Tuesday, February 3rd at 9:00 pm.
Our teachers are looking forward to connecting with you and sharing updates on your child’s growth, including academics, social development, and other important areas. Conferences are a great opportunity to celebrate progress, discuss goals, and partner together to support your child’s continued success.
We truly value your partnership and are working toward 100% participation, because your involvement makes a big difference.
Please see the details below to complete your registration. We look forward to meeting with you soon!
Go Cougars!
Mike Macken

School Board hosts listening session on February 9
In ongoing efforts to gather feedback from stakeholders, the School Board is hosting quarterly Listening Sessions for the public. The sessions provide the opportunity for community members, staff, parents, and students to meet informally with board representatives and the superintendent to discuss topics in the schools. Listening Sessions increase communication and engagement work that reflects the district’s commitment to excellence. Additional sessions to seek input/perspective on topics established by the Board would be scheduled as a special or additional Board Listening Session.
Board members or the superintendent may ask clarifying questions of you as the participant to gain a thorough understanding of your concern, suggestion, or request. If there is any follow-up or response to your comment or suggestion, you will be contacted via email or phone in a timely manner by a member of the board or administration. Please be aware that disrespectful comments or comments of a personal nature, directed at an individual either by name or inference, will not be allowed. Personnel concerns should be directed first to a principal or executive director of the department, then to the executive director of human resources, then to the superintendent, and finally, in writing, to the board.
The last listening session of the school year will be April 20. Sessions are held in the District Office Board Room from 5:30 pm-6:15 pm. More information can be found on the Centennial website.
