Moving Forward
News from Mrs. Balfour, Social Worker & School Counselor
Dear Families,
The final week of school has arrived! This year feels like such an accomplishment for our students. So proud of them (and you!) for all their hard work, perseverance, and dedication. Congratulations to all!
As we move into the summer, a few notes:
1. Keep reading! Get more "bang for your buck" by reading books with social-emotional learning (SEL) themes that you and your child can discuss. For a list of summer books with SEL themes, check out this list from Counselor Chelsey.
2. Do you or someone you know have some unmet needs? Check out Maine Needs. They have lots of items to share!
3. Don't forget, there are multiple options for free lunch through the summer. Reach out to me if you need more information.
As always, please feel free to reach out with questions or concerns. I do check my email periodically throughout the summer and am always happy to help support DCS students.
Happy Summer!
Heather Balfour, LCSW
