Junior Rally at the Falls (6th - 8th grade)
Held annually, the NE/NW Junior Rally is a recreational and educational opportunity planned for 4-H’ers in the 6th through 8th grades in Northeast and Northwest Districts. The weekend includes workshops and educational sessions including the Wahsega ropes obstacles, along with community service opportunities, and the annual glow in the dark Easter egg hunt for prizes! Recreational programs for 4-H’ers are included to allow 4-H’ers to interact with youth from all over North Georgia.
Wildlife Judging
Sign-ups for Wildlife Judging are underway.
The contest schedule is a little different this year than it has been in the past. Junior competitors (4th – 8th grade) will compete at an area contest on April 17th at Wahsega 4-H Center. Senior (9th-12th grade) competitors will compete at the area contest and the state contest on May 4th at Rock Eagle. The area contests will not have the oral defense part of the competition.
The Jackson County team will practice on Thursdays starting February 12th at 4:30 PM at the 4-H Office.
Wildlife Judging is an incredible opportunity to learn about more than 20 species of wildlife native to Georgia, their habitat needs, and how to manage them. Competitors learn how to identify wildlife by sight, sound, tracks, and remains.
