Message from Ms. Joanna Message from Ms. Joanna

Dear PS 107 Families,

We’re making great progress on the NYC School Survey — thank you! As of today, 55.2% of families have completed their surveys. That’s a big jump from last week, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has taken the time to share their feedback with us.

As a reminder, the deadline to complete the survey has been extended to this Friday, April 11th. We’re still aiming for a big goal: if 95% of families in a class complete the survey, that class will earn a pizza party! 🍕A few classes are already getting close — who will be next?

If you haven’t had a chance to fill out the survey yet, it’s quick and easy:

Visit www.NYCSchoolSurvey.org. You’ll need to enter the letter “f” (lowercase), followed by your child’s student identification number (OSIS). You can find this number on your child’s report card, in Operoo, or in their NYCSA account. Please complete a separate survey for each child enrolled at PS 107.

THANK YOU FOR AN AMAZING GALA!

Last Friday’s PS 107 Gala and Auction was a truly magical evening. It was a beautiful celebration of our strong, generous, and joyful school community. A heartfelt thank you to Audrey Stipanovich and Gemma Niblett for their outstanding work as lead organizers.

And to the many, many volunteers who helped make the evening possible — we see you, and we are so grateful. Whether you donated items, set up tables, picked up food, or danced the night away, thank you for being part of it all. Your support makes such a difference.

FUN & FASHION: FUNKY FRIDAY IS HERE!

This Friday, the day before Spring Break, will be Funky Friday at PS 107! Have your children don their wackiest wear, silliest stuff, and funniest fashion for a day of laughs and light-hearted fun. Please make sure their outfits are safe — no sharp edges or costume elements that could accidentally hurt another student — and that they’ll be comfortable wearing their funky looks all day long. We can’t wait to see what our wonderfully creative students come up with!

LOOKING AHEAD: SPRING RECESS

Next week is Spring Recess, from Monday, April 14th through Friday, April 18th. We want to wish a Chag Pesach Sameach to our families celebrating Passover, and a meaningful and blessed Holy Thursday and Good Friday and a Happy Easter to those observing these holidays.

Spring is a time of renewal, and these holidays reflect just that. We hope you enjoy a restful and joyful break, and we look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday, April 21st as we head into the final 10 weeks of the school year!

Warmly,

Ms. Joanna

This is a reminder to please use caution when entering and leaving the building, in particular when leaving. We are currently working on updating our signage to include this message.

When leaving the building, please push the door open slowly. We have many younger students coming into the building and they don't always know to step aside after they ring the bell.

Thank you for your consideration 🧡

POTHOLE/CAVE IN on 8th Avenue & 14th Street

The 2025 NYC School Survey administration window has been extended and will close this Friday, April 11.

REMINDERS & HELPFUL TIPS

NYC SCHOOLS ACCOUNT - NYCSA

This is a NYC DOE parent account for students grades K - 12 that enables parents/guardians to view all of their children’s records - grades, fitnessgrams, attendance, your child’s DOE email, etc. At least one parent/guardian will need to have access to this account.

We strongly encourage all parents/guardians to have their own account. Any parent with children in grades k-5 who does not have their own NYSCA , please contact nbenlarbi2@schools.nyc.gov for instructions and your unique account creation code.

MAKING SCHOOL DAY DISMISSAL PICK-UP CHANGES

If there is a change to your child’s dismissal, please be sure to note the change on the Daily Dismissal form in Operoo. If it is a same day change, please email your child’s teacher and cc Nadia at nbenlarbi2@schools.nyc.gov in addition to making any changes on the Daily Dismissal form. You can also contact the main office at 718-499-2054.

MAKING AFTERSCHOOL DISMISSAL CHANGES

If you need to add a new pick up person for your child in afterschool, please make sure to update this on 6Crickets (Click Here). Afterschool and PS 107 partner in many ways, but not with our information applications. They can't access Operoo and we can't access 6Crickets.

Thank you for your assistance in ensuring your child's safety 😊

IDENTIFICATION

When entering the school building you must present your ID to the safety agent when signing in.

One helpful tip is to take a picture of your id. Often, we will have our phone with us even if we don’t have our id. This way, you always have it handy :)
