Morning traffic & drop-off reminders
As we settle into our morning routines, we want to share a few important reminders to help ensure that student drop-off is safe, efficient, and smooth for everyone.
Activity Entrance drop-off: Families using the Activity Entrance off of Shermer Road for morning drop-off should please pull forward to the stop sign before turning left to exit back onto Shermer Road. Pulling all the way forward helps keep traffic moving and allows as many families as possible to safely use the drop-off area. We also want to avoid pulling out of the parking lot by the parked cars, as teachers are walking through the lot, and we want to ensure everyone is beginning their day safely.
Student arrival time: Please remember that the Maple office does not open until 8:00 a.m., and building doors open at 8:05 a.m. Students should not be dropped off at Maple before 8:00 a.m. Students who arrive before that time would be unsupervised while waiting in our front vestibule, which we want to avoid.
We appreciate everyone's partnership in helping us maintain a safe and efficient arrival process for all of our students. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us start each school day on a positive note!
Calling all Maple Athletes
Maple will be holding tryouts for girls volleyball next week. Cross Country had their first team meeting on August 20; please see the website for the informational packet that was sent home with each student who attended.
All 7th and 8th grade girls’ who are interested in trying out for Volleyball should meet in the West Gym directly after school on August 31 and September 1.
Tryouts will be held on two days for both sports, beginning at 3:35 p.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m. sharp.
Students who do not come in athletic attire to school will be allowed to change to participate in the tryout. Athletes are encouraged to go to both days of tryouts.

Choir information meeting follow-up
Thank you to all who attended our Choir Information Meeting this morning. If your student missed it, no worries! Please contact Ms. Meng at dmeng@district.org. She can add you to the list of students and parents receiving upcoming choir information.
Rehearsals begin on Tuesday, September 1. Choir meets from 7:45-8:25am in Room 165, according to this schedule:
Tuesdays - Sopranos
Wednesdays - Altos and Tenors
Fridays - Everyone
Students may be dropped off between 7:30-7:40 a.m. at the ACTIVITY DOOR ENTRANCE.
During this first week of rehearsals, new choir students may choose to attend on either Tuesday and Friday OR Wednesday and Friday. Throughout the week, I will get to know each student’s voice to determine their best voice part (soprano, alto, or tenor) for the year. Official voice placements will be shared after the first week.
All students are welcome to join choir! No prior choir experience is necessary. Students who are in Band or Orchestra are also welcome to join. The directors will work together to create a shared schedule for these students. Students have until September 25 to sign-up for choir.
Want to see what choir is like? Watch our Recruitment Video! If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Daphne Meng at dmeng@district30.org.

The physical exam must have been completed within the past 12 months and include all required immunizations. Students who do not have the required documentation after October 15, 2026, may be excluded from school per state mandate until it is received.

All students - medications and health care plans
- If your child requires medication at school or has a medical condition that requires a health care plan, please complete and submit the required forms before the first day of school. If updated forms are not received, the school will continue to follow the previous year's health care plan for students with life-threatening allergies or other qualifying medical conditions until new documentation is provided.
All forms are available on the Maple website.
Maple athletics:
If your child will be participating in Maple athletics, it is required that your student have a health exam that was completed within one year prior to the last game of the season, on file in the health office.

All forms can be dropped off with a member of the Maple front desk team, or emailed to School Nurse Mrs. Katie Weissler (kweissler@district30.org). Please contact the Health Office at 847-400-8908 if you have questions.
✅ NEW school visitor procedure
When members of the public, including parents and siblings, have reason to visit our building during regular hours of operation, they must enter through the main entrance and check in with the front desk. All visitors to school property are required to:
Report to the main entrance
Show proper identification
Clear the district’s security screening identification system
Wear a visitor badge in a manner that is visible to all employees and students at all times when on school property and
Return the issued visitor badge upon departure from the building
This step-by-step guide can help you prepare for a visit or to check out a child during the school day using our new system. Additional visitor information can be found in the District 30 Student-Parent Handbook on page 10.
