YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR CHILD’S MEDICATION!

Medication must be picked up by a parent/guardian by the end of the school day on or before June 11th. All remaining medication will be properly disposed of.

Reminder for next school year:

If your child will require medication during the 2026/2027 school year, a new Medication Authorization form or a new Action plan needs to be completed. You can find the link to these Health forms and Action plans here

*If your child has a chronic medical condition that may result in an emergency situation (Seizures, Anaphylactic Allergies, Type 1 Diabetes, Asthma, etc.), please inform your child’s school and ensure you have an up to date medical plan on file prior to the start of the 2026/2027 school year. A new plan is required on a yearly basis or if any changes are made to the plan throughout the year.

Have a great summer and we look forward to seeing you next year!

Happy Friday Hawkins,

As I prepare to retire and close this chapter of my career, and write my final newsletter entry, I find myself reflecting on what an incredible privilege it has been to serve this school community.

Over the years, we have experienced so much together—the challenges of the COVID years, staff transitions, celebrations, successes, and the inevitable ups and downs that come with any journey. Through it all, I have been surrounded by amazing students, dedicated staff members, and supportive families. I can honestly say that I have loved my time here.

What I will miss most are the students. Their energy, resilience, curiosity, and joy have made every day meaningful. They are the reason we do this work, and it has been an honor to watch so many of them learn, grow, and succeed.

I also want to recognize what I believe is the very best staff around. Our teachers and support staff work tirelessly on behalf of your children. They care deeply, they give endlessly of themselves, and they genuinely love your kids. I have always tried to support them just as they have supported our students.

Throughout my career, I have worked to keep three priorities at the center of every decision: putting kids first, supporting teachers, and ensuring parents feel confident that their children are safe, valued, and cared for at school. Being a principal is not always an easy job, and I certainly did not get every decision right. Some decisions worked out well, and others may not have. However, every decision was made with the best interests of children in mind, and I can honestly say I always gave this job my very best effort.

Thank you for the trust you placed in me and for allowing me the opportunity to serve this wonderful community. The relationships and memories I have made here will stay with me forever.

As you look ahead, I encourage you to support Mr. Renner as he steps into the principal role. He will need the same partnership, understanding, and encouragement that have helped make this school successful. Please remember that every member of our staff works incredibly hard for your children. There will be times when students make mistakes, tell only part of the story, or see situations differently—as children often do. When concerns arise, I encourage you to start with a conversation. Listen, ask questions, and work together with teachers and administrators to find solutions. Open communication and mutual respect are always more productive than assumptions or social media posts.

Finally, thank you for being such an important part of my journey. I leave with a full heart, countless wonderful memories, and tremendous gratitude. While I am excited for the next chapter—and especially for spending more time as a grandfather—I will always cherish my years here and the people who made them so special.

I wish each of you a wonderful summer and an amazing school year ahead.

Thank you for everything!

Mr. McAuliffe

Chris

Report cards will be available to view in Parent Connect on Tuesday, June 17th. We will not be mailing report cards home.

We are attempting to utilize technology to reduce paper use and waste. This also helps reduce our paper cost and that savings can be used for our students.

Below are two documents that outline how to access report cards in Parent Connect and they are attached. It takes you step by step through accessing your students report card.

End of the Year Cornhole Celebration End of the Year Cornhole Celebration

As a Unified Champion School, Hawkin’s students once again had the opportunity to participate in cornhole during the 2025-2026 school year. Using sports as the foundation, the program works to equip students with tools and training to create teams, classrooms, and entire schools built on acceptance and inclusion. Unified Champion Schools are places where students with disabilities feel welcomed, valued, and are meaningfully included in all school activities, opportunities, and functions. To celebrate a successful year, all students who participated in cornhole were invited to attend an end of the year popsicle party.

Run Club Celebration Run Club Celebration

Over 200 Hawkins students met their run club goals and attended the end of the year ice cream party. A HUGE shout out to the 15 students who completed a full marathon this school year!

A special thank you to Molly Jourden for bringing running club back to Hawkins and to all the amazing volunteers that have generously given their time and encouragement to support the runners! Also, a big thank you to the 2nd graders who create signs to make the last day of run club so festive!

Please make sure your child has an extra set of clothes in their backpack. Accidents happen while your child is at school (bathroom accidents, playground mishaps, lunchroom spills, ripped or torn clothes, etc.) and we do not have extra clothes to lend out. Having an extra set here at school saves parents from having to make a trip to Hawkins during the day. We appreciate your help!
