Stinson Skyhawk News
September 28, 2026 - October 2, 2026
Message from the Principal
Dear Skyhawks,
We are in the home stretch of the 1st 9 weeks and the month of October begins this week. October events are plentiful including Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Declaration of Respect, "Let's Be Kind" Blue Shirt Day, Pillar's Recognition, Stinson Magnet Ribbon Cutting and PTA Community Vendor Day, and later this month Red Ribbon Week.
We are also in the home stretch of the annual district NEF Pledge Drive. And thanks to all who made donations this week; we have earned Jean Week #2 for raising another $700! Thank you ALL for your donations and helping us get closer to meeting our campus goal.
If we collect the remaining $700 needed to reach our $2,057 campus goal during the week of September 28–October 5, the ENTIRE CAMPUS will enjoy: DRESS LIKE A COACH WEEK — October 5–9!
Just a reminder that we will have our faculty meeting on September 28, in the library from 4:15 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. The meeting will also include the district Bond/VATER presentation.
Finally, the deadline to complete the required district training sessions is this Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Thanks to all who have already completed the training.
May you all have a rewarding week and hope some cooler weather appears by the end of the week.
Lou

ATTENDANCE: New Practices
REMINDER: Beginning Monday, September 21, teachers will no longer have the ability to go in and change attendance within a 3 day window.
Corrections will only be allowed the day attendance is submitted. Teachers will have to submit a correction request through a district Google form.
REMINDER:
Attendance must be submitted within 6 minutes of every period.
Best advice is make sure you are submitting attendance every period of the day as quickly as possible. 6th and 7th Grade English teachers, please do not forget that you have to submit attendance for both periods of your block classes.
Mr. Villarreal and I receive reports on teachers who are not submitting their 2nd period attendance within the 6 minute window, and we will be documenting and emailing teachers who are on the report chronically.
Please see me or Mr. Villarreal if you have any questions regarding required attendance procedures. Thank you all for your attention to detail and following these new attendance procedures.
