March 2026 NRESC Updates from Dr. Vancheri
Short, Sweet, and Son-Approved!
Last month, we went for the gold with an Olympics-themed newsletter—packed with information, color, and plenty to celebrate. However, after a very honest review from my now 12-year-old son, Nicholas, I learned it may have been just a bit too long and, in his words, “kinda boring.” So this month, we’re trying something new.
Welcome to a “Short, Sweet, and Son-Approved” edition, where we highlight all the great things happening across the Commission in a more concise way. You’ll find quick snapshots of our March events, celebrations, and accomplishments—no fluff, just the good stuff. Wishing everyone a wonderful spring break and happy holidays!
Beyond my monthly updates, I encourage you to check out the monthly newsletters from the following NRESC departments and programs:

Happy Birthday Nicholas!
Pearl is a Busy Little Girl!
March was a busy and heartwarming month for Pearl! She made her way through classrooms across Passaic County, spreading smiles and celebrating Read Across America as a special guest listener. At Memorial Elementary School in North Haledon, Pearl soaked up story time, enjoying fantastic reads shared by the students.
While the celebrations were a highlight, Pearl’s work as a dedicated Therapy Dog never slows down. Each week, she’s on the move, bringing comfort, calm, and connection wherever she goes. You’ll find her in North Haledon on Tuesdays, at John P. Holland on Wednesdays, and later in the week, spending time with the “big kids” at Manchester Regional High School.
Wherever she visits, Pearl continues to make a meaningful impact: one paw at a time!

When Every Click Counts: NRESC Prepares Tech for Success
As state testing approaches, readiness is key—and NRESC Shared Technology Services ensures technology never stands in the way of student success.
At JP Holland Charter School, an NRESC technician, Joe LeBert, has prepped two full carts of Chromebooks, creating 60 fully vetted backup devices ready for immediate use. Each Chromebook is inspected, updated, tested, and tracked by serial number for accountability and fast deployment.
This proactive approach goes beyond troubleshooting: by anticipating challenges and implementing strategic solutions, NRESC gives schools the confidence that technology will perform when it matters most. With NRESC as a partner, JP Holland Charter can focus on students, knowing their devices simply work.

Credit Recovery and More: NRESC Summer Schools
The NRESC will host summer schools in throughout the region during July of 2026. Summer credit recovery is available for students in grades 6-12 at all locations. This service allows students to stay on track to ensure that they graduate on time, eliminates and/or eases the need for students to double up on courses during the school year, and ensures that class sizes are reasonable.
Feel free to contact the Commission if you would like to explore offering a summer program within your school district.
Summer Success Starts Here: NRESC ESY Support
The NRESC will continue to operate ESY programs throughout the region, as well as provide staff to numerous district-run ESY programs.
