I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! I've been happy to hear that so many of our students are already reading books and playing math games to keep those brains growing over the summer months!
School supply lists will be posted on our website, Facebook page, and sent out by the end of June. Alabama's Back to School Tax Holiday is scheduled for July 19-21. Be sure to scroll down to find information regarding Orientation. At Orientation, you will also have an opportunity to join our fantastic PTO and shop our Spirit Store for Falcon gear! Famiies will also have an option for ordering spirit wear online this year...more info coming soon!
We are thrilled to offer the Forest Hills Book Bus on Thursdays this summer! Be on the lookout for the Falcon Feeder between 11-1 on scheduled dates. Students will receive free books, a free popsicle, and a bookmark! See the flyer below and watch THIS VIDEO for specific information regarding routes and stops. Also, students who participate in our Summer Reading Challenge and meet their summer AR Goal will travel to the Marriott Splash Pad for a celebration in August!
Be sure you've checked your child's backpack. Every student made a math game to bring home for summer. Students are encouraged to play this math game with a parent, sibling, or friend. Playing these games will build your child's fact fluency and conceptual understanding. See below for pictures of the games each grade level made. Students also brought home their report cards, iReady report, headphones, and any other personal items the last week of school. Parents of rising 4th graders, be sure you read over your child's ACAP Reading Individual Student Report (ISR). This will explain how your child performed on 3rd grade reading standards. It will also state whether your child scored above the cut score or not (score required to be promoted to 4th grade).
Registration for our Forest Hills After School Program/FHASP (paid after-school childcare) will be via email. Families of new students in kindergarten will receive an email later in June once registration is open for FHASP.
