The Wolfpack Shows Its SPIRIT
This week, our Wolfpack students truly embodied what it means to be SPIRITED:
Scholarship: Classrooms were filled with meaningful learning. Students were teaching one another to reinforce key concepts, engaging in dissections to deepen their understanding of human anatomy, and collaborating in math classrooms to tackle complex problems across a variety of content areas.
Passion: We proudly celebrated two incredible staff members whose dedication to the Wolfpack makes a difference every day. Please see our video post below honoring our Classified Staff Member of the Year, Amy Curtis, and our Teacher of the Year, Brittany Strosnider.
Involvement: Our choir and string orchestra students have been hard at work rehearsing for upcoming performances. We also had the opportunity to surprise our Art Show Scholarship winners in their classrooms—stay tuned for the big reveal at our upcoming Spring Sports Rally!
Reflection: This week, our Instructional Leadership Team met to review second semester goals and identify key areas of focus to continue strengthening teaching and learning across campus.
Integrity: Our students demonstrated what it truly means to be Wolfpack. They showed respect, kindness, and a willingness to engage in thoughtful conversations about important topics. Every day, our students remind us of the good in the next generation and the kind of world they are capable of building.
Teamwork: Spring sports are officially underway while our winter teams are celebrating their seasons during banquet events. Please see the full end-of-season report below from our Athletic Director, Anthony Califano.
CAASPP Testing Update: ELA
Thank you to our Wolfpack Juniors for all of their hardwork this week on the CAASPP test in their English classrooms. We appreciate how seriously our students took the test and we know that their scores will reflect what they and their teachers have done ALL YEAR to prepare.
There is still testing this week for students who did not finish the exam last week. We ask that our students still follow the testing tips below and come to school each day with a charged TVUSD device. Our goal is to be done with testing by Wednesday, March 11th. To do that we need our students to check their email and report to the library for Make-Up Testing if asked to do so. Mrs. Castillo will be communicating with students who need to finish testing.
Thank you again to our Wolfpack community for your help on making this a success!
We ask that during your child’s testing window that you consider the following in helping your child to do their best on the CAASPP:
Bring Technology to School
Each student will need to bring a charged school issued iPAD or chromebook to school each day for testing. They will also need to bring a charging cable as a back-up! Students must also need to bring their PLUG IN headphones.
Get a good night’s sleep
Eat a Good Breakfast
Encourage your Student
Get them Moving
Be at School and Arrive on Time.
We ask that if at all possible students are not pulled out of school for doctor/dentist appointments that would impact their testing time. We appreciate your support in protecting this time for all of the students.

PBIS: Electronic Devices in Locker Rooms and Restrooms
Recently, we have noticed an increase in students using electronic devices—including cell phones, iPads, Meta glasses, and other recording-capable devices—in locker rooms and bathrooms, where their use is strictly prohibited. We want to take a moment to clarify our expectations. Protecting student privacy, safety, and dignity is a shared responsibility, and we appreciate your partnership in reinforcing these expectations with your student.
Recording and Privacy Expectations
Students are prohibited from using any electronic device (including, but not limited to, cell phones, tablets, smart glasses, or other recording devices) to capture, record, or transmit audio and/or images (including pictures or video) of any student, staff member, or other individual at school or during a school-related activity without prior notice and explicit consent. Recording or sharing audio, photos, or video without consent is considered an invasion of privacy and is not permitted.
Locker Rooms and Bathrooms
Students are strictly prohibited from using electronic devices of any kind to take pictures or record audio or video in locker rooms or bathrooms. This behavior is a violation of California Penal Code Section 647(j)(3) and may result in serious disciplinary consequences.
Harassment, Intimidation, and Altercations
Students are prohibited from using electronic devices in any way that could reasonably cause another person to feel threatened, humiliated, harassed, or intimidated. Recording, sharing, and/or uploading a physical altercation is prohibited and may be a direct violation of Jordan’s Law (AB 1542).
Social Media Awareness
We encourage students to be thoughtful and responsible when using social media. Posts can have long-term consequences, including impacts on college admissions, scholarships, and future opportunities, and may also reflect negatively on Great Oak High School. Posts that create a hostile environment or disrupt the learning environment may be subject to disciplinary action under the Education Code when a nexus to school is established.
We ask that you review these expectations with your student and remind them of the importance of respecting privacy and making responsible choices when using electronic devices. Together, we can help maintain a safe, respectful, and focused learning environment for all students.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
