2026 World Teen Mental Health Celebration at TMS
Monday, March 2nd was World Teen Mental Health Day. Started in 2020, this day focused on encouraging teens to talk openly about mental health and supporting mental health education. The Brave Initiative Team and the Sources of Strength Team at TMS created a plan and celebration for the student body.
Thanks to bi3, Interact for Health, and the Joe Burrow Foundation, TMS received funding to provide each student with a "mental health toolkit". Throughout the school day, students received different items to help them think about strategies to stay mentally well and deal with life's stressors. From journaling to being physically active, students had the opportunity to think about what works best for them.
During lunch on Monday, students will also had the opportunity to think about individuals in their lives who serve as mentors. These may be individuals at home, in school, or in the community. As a school, we created a display of all of the identified mentors.
We encourage you to ask your student about this celebration. If you have any questions or want any additional information, please feel free to contact Talawanda Health & Wellness at 513.273.3390.
